UNLV offer list!

We have to build basically an entire roster. Majority will be guys like these who will accept a role coming off the bench. We'll see some more sought after guys mentioned here shortly. But we know how this goes. A ton of "offers" will be out there.

People wanted Buckyball and Bucky is recruiting the same player Pastner is, but somehow poo poo it because not a five star rating?
People automatically equate "recruiting" to the stars next to a players name like we're freaking Kentucky or Kansas. There are plenty of mid-major players that are good players that can lead you to a tournament

I tell you what I don’t want and that is a bunch of 4 and 5 star talent that only gets up for playing UNC or other ranked teams in November and December but can’t beat Wyoming, CSU, AFA, or UNR come January and February because they are not motivated!

We have seen that movie here before and some are still hanging their UNLV hats on teams from 10-15 years ago, coached by a nice guy who could not coach his way out of paper bag!

Drake had four guys from D2 and they were in the tournament!
They had a really good coach too.
This list must be under KK, he had no fire, i am tired of beating Portland, N. Arizona type schools for talent, the list shows you why they chose UNLV.

UNLV needs kids from good basketball schools who were over recruited and chance to play and develop.

We aren’t getting the guys you covet, the perception of UNLV needs to be raised significantly before we can expect the types of guys you are speaking of.

Give me 5 guys who are coachable, can shoot, have some length and will hustle on D and for rebounds.

The 4-5 guys at Drake look pretty good right about now, they were just in the tournament we can’t get to, let alone win a game in!

Well if we build a team of guys like this it will look like this year best case. Not judging by the stars but by the Radfords and High Points on their lists. That said, I am not worried. We are 3 days in? We need bench players too. Plus who knows which of these are pre and post Pastner.

But Bennett’s asthma was pretty bad in the winter months and unfortunately, college basketball is a winter month sport.

We aren't getting top tier players in this environment. People need to accept that. The best we can hope for is taking a flyer on an injured 4-5 star player and hoping he recovers enough to be 80% the player he was pre-injury. Or getting incredibly lucky getting a raw player who comes to his own before leaving for greener pastures.

True!

We may be able to get 4 better than average guys from other G5 teams or really good fundamentally sound guys from lower divisions to play together like Drake did this year!

This is our reality right now, maybe after a couple successful seasons, the NIL will get raised!

Pastner is going to deliver a good class when compared to the past 10 years. Kruger honestly had a couple decent portal classes, but they lacked balance. I feel like we are downplaying what the end result will be here in terms of recruiting with Pastner. Our NIL budget isn't so tiny as to prevent us from getting high rated guys. It's top of the MW last I heard. Pastner is going to get talent here, and quickly.

Could really care less for year one, I just want a different attitude and approach. Tired of watching players get a bruise and take the rest of the season off. We need players that are hungry and want to win.

Pastner is the type of coach that will attract those players. Kruger has whiffed on so many guys that could have been absolute studs on the boards and made life real difficult for the opposing team on defense. Some of them are still playing in the tournament.

We're not getting Cooper Flagg but there is a lot of room between those type of players and guys who start with Florida International. Our NIL isn't zero we will get some pretty good players but top tier no.

I definitely want to see that change as well, I just want to win games while we do it. Not expecting NCAA year one but expect significant improvement and not being out of the tournament before our first conference game.

Worth a scholle ,but we need to do better MUCH better overall if we are going to compete in the MWC!
The MWC is not even the AAC, what type of recruits are you thinking about?

I think Drake could have won the MWC and I know they could have beaten UNM like SJSU did! Boise St, Utah St, SDSU weren’t unbeatable and even CSU who was a little better was not way above Drake with their 4 guys from D2, so what level of recruits do you speak of?

Drake had to do more with chemistry and coaching than talent.

It all comes back to coaching, in several different ways.

1. Do you have a system, both offensively and defensively?
2. Can you recruit players that will be able to carry out your system?
3. Can you coach up the players to execute well enough on both ends of the court?

You don't need all top tier players, but it really depends on what you're planning to do.

I wonder if kevin kruger's name was kevin doe and had no help for backing from his dad and his associates what kind of job he would of done on his own merit?

They need bench players we need starters
Question Have you ever seen him play or are you assuming off of a picture. Seems like every team in the tourney has a few players that transferred from a small school. I don't know how good he is but I have to trust the coaches. Are there any recruits that we can afford that you like. Hate nil but do think the players should get compensated its just out of control.
