Salty. Besides the posters goading Mercedes into spilling the beans and Chi declaring that the new coach was a 'man' I don't think anyone was proclaiming to know. Mercedes and Rebneck seemed to have inside track on this hire.

Maybe I'm misreading your post/accusation, but how do you figure? @rebneck came out with:

"Word is new guy should be made public shortly. Lots of experience. Mentored several first round picks. Several common threads with current staff."

Seems pretty spot on. That post was from 2/16. It was enough info to have @rebelx guess Coach Samuel.

Once in awhile some of us get privy to certain information and we can't just let the cat totally out of the bag. We don't want to jeopardize our sources or their jobs because, sometimes, it would be too obvious to certain readers where the "leak" was, so we just have to be vague or sit on it. In this case I felt I could turn "concern" about who the new coach would be into "curiosity" without being the one to put it out into the public domain.

Yes he was. Plus Barney Cotton was Coach T Sam's OC at New Mexico State. Funny how things circle around. HCTS replaced a very good DL coach with a FAR superior DL coach and FAR superior recruiter in one fell swoop. Believe me, if T Sam can convince good prospects to leave places like GA, FLA and TX to go to Las Cruzes and Lincoln, he can get them to come to Las Vegas.

To be fair, mercedes and JDG actually did know. I recommend paying close attention to their posts.
