According to the roster, that’s Jaden Henley the DePaul transfer.
I need to see a little more, but I’m really liking him so far. He hit a three that didn’t move the net, grabbed a rebound and took it coast to coast and had a sick dunk. If he can put up 10-12ppg he’s a solid 2nd or 3rd option. Willing to rebound is huge from the wing.
Heard the Rebels pulled away in OT and won “handily” … 10 point win??? High 90’s. But it was mostly 5-6 players with the points.
I did see Whaley out there but no highlights. I was going to ask about Hill. I didn’t see him (#1) at all.
Boone is not on the roster right? Any news I missed?
I liked the inside play by 45 (Jeremiah "Bear" Cherry). 6'11 and 280 lbs. with some good footwork /moves with seemingly good hands.
That's Steve Lavin's USD Toreros. I imagine he's upgraded that roster some. Besides, I watched the highlights and we only missed one shot and that was rebounded and put back. Clearly we're unstoppable this year!

People pay too much attention to things that don’t matter. Highlight reels, number of stars next to a players name, which program a player transfers from, exhibition games. I only care about on court results in games that count. I’ll reserve judgement until I see the actual product.

They always suck in scrimmages under Kevin.
Anyone remember the disaster in Canada? Last year lost right out of the gate. This is nothing new.
I am also concerned that Kevin is openly saying that we will use a short bench for the next few games since 3 guys are dinged up and not ready. Supposedly a deep roster and not even going to utilize it and develop guys.
Nah, I have too many other positive things going for me in life to be stressed out about something I have no control over or the outcome of sporting events.
We used like 5 guys for 80% of the minutes last year so how much shorter can the bench get?

I don’t recall any MWC school turning it down but agree that a lot of schools across the country did.

I dont beleive any schools in the MWC turned down an invite. When i stated league i was referring to the NCAA not just the MWC
What the hell are you even talking about? Are you a special kind of stupid? When did I claim to ever know you, much less know how you feel? You’re the one who said “right, nice try” questioning my sincerity when I said I didn’t get stressed out over things I have no control of.
I try not to, sometimes it gets the best of me, but usually it’s fleeting. We have no impact on the outcome of a game, we don’t have a say in who is hired or fired … you just …. hope.
I used to get far more agitated when I was younger. And it lasted a long time. It’s probably a combination of getting older/changing priorities and the school has floundered for such a large percentage of seasons, especially lately, that you kinda pull back on the emotional investment a bit.
That’s exactly where I’m at. I’ve been following UNLV in all sports since the early 80’s and as you, I used to be very emotionally invested, but as the years flew by and the hair got a little grayer and the knees got a little sorer. Some things in life just seemed more important. I’m not a gambler and I dont bet on sports, so the outcome of a sporting event does nothing to improve my life either personally or financially. I have 2 special needs children at home that I would rather focus my time and emotion on.
