**UNLV (8-2) @ UNR (0-6) Series Thread** UNLV SWEEPS RENO In 3 Games!

UNLV comes into the series off a road win at Texas Tech and confidence high facing a winless Reno team. Reno has played and lost 3 to UC-Irvine (17-4,15-3,7-1 were the scores) and lost 3 to Loyola Marymount (8-5,7-3,8-3). None of the games have been close for the Wolfpack this season and anything less than a sweep for UNLV would be kinda disappointing at this juncture. Hopefully UNLV isn't looking ahead to a big 2 game series with Arizona next week.

Game #1 - Friday 2pm PST
Game #2 - Saturday 1pm PST

Real test comes when the Rebels play 17th ranked Arizona next week. GO REBELS!!!

I like our chances against UA. If we sweep them, we should start getting some national love in the rankings.

Wow, wow wow... gator...

This isn't basketball. UCIrvine is a national elite team and LMU goes up and down but is ultra competitive too.

Those are two series that would challenge us so let's not get too ahead of ourselves. Though I will say I expect a sweep.

Dint be surprised if we drop two to UA. I'll take a split.

But I love your enthusiasm Gator! I hope they get at it!

I expect a sweep against Reno, but wouldn't be shocked if we went 2-1 against them either. Its one thing to be 0-6 against good competition, but its another to be 0-6 because you're just not that good. I'm sure UA will be a very tough 2 game series, but I'd be shocked if we ended up with anything less than a split. UNLV is a very good team and IMO underrated. I think we're gonna shock alot of people in the conference this year and I wouldn't be surprised if we finished as high as 2nd behind TCU this year. Even though the Horned Frogs are currently sitting at 4-4 after dropping 3 of 4 to CSF and most recently to Dallas Baptist.

While Loyola Marymount is a middle of the pack team ranked around #70th, UC-Irvine is a different story. From what I can read about Irvine, they have a good team and could easily spend the season up around the top 25. So, while UNR may be 0-6, they could still be competitive. I also believe the games are being played up at UNR. Is that true?

If UNLV can get a sweep, they may have an outside chance it getting some votes towards the top 25, which would continue what looks like an amazing turn around in such a short time for the program.

Like scoresmansaid, LMU is no joke. They aren't as good as when Frank Cruz (now HC at USC) was at the helm but they're building. UCIrvine is legit and is becOming a mini power in socal. They're not yet at Fullerton, UCLA or LBSU level but they're getting there.

Either way, we need to sweep this series. It would be a great moral boost.

Okay I found a way for updates for Free, it's shoddy but it works.

Players Of The Game:

Pitching: Tanner Peters - 9IP 5H 0ER 3BB 8K's

Offensive: Cash Thomas went 4 for 4 with and RBI and 2 Runs. Rance Roundy went 3 for 3 with 2RBI's and a Run. Brandon Bayardi cashed in with a Home Run.

As expected UNLV handles Reno with ease although finding themselves in trouble a few times.

This tam has some of the coolest names around. Tanner Peters, Cash Thomas, Rance Roundy, Brandon Bayardi.... All awesome names and born baseball players.
