Yes there is a basketball game today. One the Rebels should win but who knows. Tip off in a couple hours. Last ooc game. Can Kevin start conference with an above .500 record? Or will we be looking at a 5-6?

I see riverside has a good record and lost to byu by 6 and Oregon by 15. We would probably lose to those teams by a similar score. If they do not take these guys seriously, they will lose.

WERE GETTING OUTREBOUNDED BY A SMALLER TEAM! 3 POINT STREAK ENDING TODAY'!
They have 8 offensive rebounds to our 5 defensive rebounds. We would be very respectable if we could control our defensive board. We got no strong explosive leaders to help on boards this year. Whaley is missed very much.

Keyshawn was a huge ego/entitlement problem. If you can’t handle the ego or tame it, you’re better off letting him go, imo. He had talent, we saw it as a frosh. But you going to cater to his every demand?
Third program in three years.

Looked to where he has transferred. He’s got zero views on where he’s at in 2024

Working with kids takes some patience. It has been documented that Sid Green and Richie Adam's caused all sorts of problems for Tark back in the day. Sid Green led them to number 1 in the nation and Richie Adam's was conference player of the year. Also, Tarks dynasty was built a lot by transfers. The way CKK seems to roll, he would not put up with all kinds of guys that put UNLV on the map.

Tark was a different animal and times were different.

I’ve spoken about this many many times over the years. Loyalty.

Tark had their back, Tark earned their trust … and they remained loyal. It wasn’t always like that back then, but far more prevalent than today.

Entitlement wasn’t nearly the thing back then as it is now, either.

Nowadays, coaches use players, players use programs. There isn’t much loyalty. And it’s worse now with NIL, money is the driver. Loyalty is sold for pennies on the dollar.

I don’t blame KK for that. I blame him for many things but not that.

I think it’s harder to be a coach now than back then. Back then, it was more about teaching and coaching, it was a given that 75% of non seniors that you recruited would return, a year older, a year wiser, a year more mature. Now they bolt at first sign of trouble or for an extra digit with NIL.

Can we blame him for not teaching players to box out and rebound. Or does he actually teach rebounding and they just don't care ?

There’s a lot to bash. Aesthetically, it’s some of the ugliest most ineffective offense I’ve ever seen. Fundamentally, weak.

But entitlement with kids and dealing with it … that’s tough for everyone.

Was watching san Diego state. Their defense is amazing again. They got a 56-21 run going vs call. We will get smoked on the boards by them.
