It’s the second (and last) super easy stretch of the MWC conference slate for the Rebels, around 6 games - 5 of the games are against teams that are tied with the Rebs or below the Rebels. They could/should win, at worst, 4 of the 6.

Let’s hope that happens. Because then we are back. The Rebels are peaking. We are making our run. It’s time to talk about an extension and how we should be on the bubble watch list at the very least. How slow growth has finally sprouted juicy fruits.

Just getting out ahead of it. Because of fan history here.

I heard we play Wyoming today. I'll be sure to not catch the highlights on youtube tomorrow.

At the rate things are going, senior night could have more family members of the seniors than fans!

Thanks Cottrell..

having a bum foot and taking up a scholarship.

maybe Waley’s back will magically heal and we can go on a “run”

Cottrell always parks himself as far away from the rim as possible, like a guard.

I totally get having a foot injury. I did box jumps with walking shoes the other day. My left foot was kinda sore.

I forgot how many bones are in the foot..

Never ever again.

We might be working our way towards the NIT bubble. And another exciting NIT run.

I dont see UNLV being considered for the NIT, maybe the CBI. Which i hope they would turn down. If UNLV is going to go to a tourney they need to win 4 games next week.
Turning down the CBI because you’re too good for it..

Sheit, you take it…especially with this group. They have something to play for..

We are currently 93 in NET. A win against NM would boost us to around 88. Get to the semi's in out Tourney and we may move to 83. Last year we were NET 76 after the MW Tourney - BUT we were 4th ( with two ties for 2nd that went to the NCAA) in conference. We are 6th this year in a , most likely, 2 bid league.

No NIT for us.

I corrected that for you. If the players get NIL money from the tournaments, no matter how minor, they may have interest in collecting cash!

No, the CBI isnt worth the time and money UNLV would have to pay to play in it. Save the money for anything else. Get rid of Kruger and get the coaching search offically started ( should already be happening) and move on. That much sooner the new coach can get recruiting and putting together a staff. What is the benefit of playing the CBI? You spend several tens of thousands of dollars to be able to claim you are the 97th best team in the country? Doesnt help the team for next year considering 1 maybe 2 player will be back if any. Even if UNLV.got a home game or two hardly anybody will show up. Big No to the CBI!

If we just win 2 more games, we’re likely back in the NIT. The College Basketball Crown tournament being played at T-Mobile will be taking a lot of the “good leftovers” this will open a lot more spots for the NIT.

Actually being 18-15 could be enough for NIT. It’s so bad Reno is being considered for the NIT as well.

If UNLV plays in a non-NCAAT tournament, I’d take that as UNLV decided, for any number of reasons that aren’t merit based, to stick with Kevin. Because if you’ve decided to move on, you want your conference tournament loss to end the season for good so you can “officially” court coaches. At least prep, get the ducks in a row.

I’m not a complete idiot, I’ve been around awhile, I know contacts between reps are made all the time even when your team is still playing. And things certainly can progress, slowly. But it makes the official part a snap instead of it dragging on.

You really don’t think Odom decided to resign, take a new job and move within 48 hours, do you?

The transfer portal, imo, made the not important tournaments even less important. Kids are here for such a short time. There’s no building towards next year. Players are 1 to 2 years then poof! I don’t see the benefit.
