couldn't have come at a much better time for this UNLV basketball team. Sitting at 4-7 and coming off a loss in which they were down 38 in the second half, eleven days in between games .. and UNLV gets the hire done, at least temporarily shifting eyes from the basketball woes.
A couple of "easy" should be no brainer wins on the slate (Phillip Morris and some directional Michigan school) to finish off the OOC before taking on Utah State and Air Force at home to continue on with conference play. Hey, we are in first place, win those two conference home games and you are in the drivers seat for the conference title, right? We should beat AFA, but USU isn't going to happen unless UNLV hits 40 percent of the 40 three pointers they'll probably attempt, plus layups - but no shooting allowed if it's between 5-19 feet because metrics say, ignore instinct, ignore a shot that you can make ... work the ball around and indiscriminately jack up that three instead.
