That depends on a lot of unknown factors. For example, if come the 27-28 season we are in the Big 12 with much stiffer comp, that number will be different. So hard to know. For me, I can only look at next year truly, which in my eyes is the final audition year for UNLV to get into Big12 and have a shot at survival at any respectable level. If Mullen does well, there wont be a year 3 or 4. Maybe 3 if we are Big12 bound. Definitely not 4. He will be gone. We need to hit on 3 hires in a row over 10 years to really get to established level. He is #2, and it's 100% about taking next step from MW to Big12. But him doing well, even if he leaves in 2-3 seasons from success, is fine as we will be in an even better spot financially and as a program.
So I'd say this. My expectation for next year is 8+ wins and a bowl game. My expectation for the year after (new weak MW) is 10 wins and a bowl game. After that, my expectation is 8 wins with a harder Big12 schedule. Then year 4 we'll see what the new coach can do. Mullen wont be here. That's how I expect this to play out.
