Stanford Football

That is a stupid comment considering Mullen turned down offers for more money than UNLV offered, but wasn't willing to go back to coach at the time. Stanford is a no win job.
I’m stupid and I’m an idiot.
I love you guys, too!

Odom “loved” LV, and so did Lon Kruger, but everyone has their price. Plus, Stanford would be desperate at this stage of the game.

I’m thinking and hoping that they promote from within but you never know.

Where is Digit!

Sure he'd call me an idiot too. But he'd call this idiot an IDIOT AND A FOOL!

Since Jim Harbaugh isn’t leaving the Chargers for The Farm, if I’m Andrew Luck one of my first calls I make is to David Shaw. His record tailed off big time at the last few seasons but he won a lot of games there. Not sure where they are with NIL and Grad players but that was a concern for him previously if I’m not mistaken.

Late in the game for this to happen!

Mullen could become a target.
That would be devastating at this point in the game. Spring ball just getting started, portal guys all committed and started at their new schools. There's still the late portal I believe, but it wouldn't leave much time to prepare for the football season.

IMO, the best move for Stanford at this time of year would be to promote from within on a 1 year interim sort of deal, then use it as an audition for that person while also looking for their permanent hire if the interim doesn't look like it's the solution.

Just hypothetically, if Mullen did leave, how many of the current UNLV players would be capable of qualifying to go to Stanford? I honestly have no idea, but unless they make special considerations for athletes, it seems like the talent pool they're targeting would be much different based on the academic standards.

Shaw has a cushy job with the Detroit Lions.

Stanford will hire Jason Garrett or do in house promotion. It’s too late in the game for a splash hire like Kliff.

The public will never know exactly why this happened but this way beyond needing a "reset".
There is a lot more to the story.

One of the sources who spoke with ESPN on condition of anonymity said that, while Taylor is an "equal opportunity a--hole," his behavior more often targeted women.

We are talking Stanford. This is the school where the entire staff is extra WOKE just behind Cal Berkley!

Stanford is more conservative than Berkley is. I think Berkley's "liberal" reputation is overblown anyways. It's not the 60s anymore.
Actually Berkley is far more liberal now than back in the 80's-90's. I know numerous graduates of Cal, and they all have said the school is much further to the left than it was when they went to school there. Stanford is more conservative than Berkley, but every school is more conservative. Stanford is very far to the left. Per Stanford, 96% of donations to democratic candidates. https://stanforddaily.com/2024/10/30/stanford-affiliated-donations/

who cares

Who knows Hartford fired their women’s basketball coach because she was mean. Could be more of that panty waist bs or maybe he was legitimately someone who doesn’t know how to appropriately treat co-workers.
