I dont know how to post it here or i would but SI posted an article about UNLV Mt Rushmore. They named the 4 players they would put on a UNLV Mt Rushmore. They had LJ, Augmon, Theus and Gilliam.
I dont think one could argue LJ or Augmon those 2 probably the best to ever put on a UNLV uniform (at least in my opinion). While Gilliam and Thues were great would those be your 4?
There were so many great players who would you put if you had to pick 4?

I thought the 4 they had was good. I would go with LJ, Augmon, Sidney Green and Banks. But i could see Theus, Gilliam, Greg Anthony, or Owens there wih LJ and Augmon.

Same here, everyone on that list was the best player on a Final 4 team except Stacy who was a great second and part of a title team. Greg has an argument because of how much he meant to that team but I agree with the list.

Tark IS the mountain.

*LJ and Augmon are automatic. The other two could be Hunt and Anthony since they were the starters on the back-to-back final four teams. Otherwise any combo of Theus, Gilliam, Banks, Owens, Gondo, and Robert Smith would all have valid arguments.

I remember when they had their own channel with CNN to compete with ESPN. I distinctly remember them spending a lot of time on the JRob hire for football.

That Curry Kirkpatrick guy still pisses me off. Someone should “confront” him and see what he thinks about college players getting paid in 2025.

I don’t have a problem with any of them, but somebody should be bumped for Tark.

But if it’s players only, I’m fine with them. But you could add probably 10 honorable mentions that could replace the third and fourth option.

Loved Hunt.
But Sam Smith from 35 feet, part of what Runnin Rebels basketball. I stay up at 11 and watch replay on channel 5, all home games for UNLV.
I love Banks staying home taking UNLV to level just before championship team. Wade/Hammer, just history levels from 74 to probation to Green teams to 83 team, then Tarks last 7 yrs UNLV was top 5, and freaking MAX f in president never mind me now! Lol

Sobers was so physical and tough defensively. Great NBA player and maybe best unlv point. Young fans just didn't have a chance to see him play.
