So DW is gone…

Good for Donovon. I hope he gets a spot in league - whatever the case he has the skills to make a decent living. I know us fans always want to squeeze every last ounce out of talented players that wear the scarlet n grey, however I know the kid has been working his ass off (for a long time) to get where he is, and nothing would please me more than seeing him get drafted and work his way onto a roster.

Not coming at you because I appreciate your positive post about a now former Rebel. However, there is little to no chance he gets drafted at all. It would be a long and arduous road for him to make the league through the other routes. It’s just an odd decision based on everything known to the public because it’s a numbers game and the math just isn’t working out. The thing we aren’t even thinking about is the overseas guys that get drafted each year. They weren’t a part of those lists and they will get drafted...5-10 every year.

CSU’s David Roddy stayed in the draft but guess what. There is a 99% chance he gets drafted this year....that makes sense.

See ya. Hardly ever knew ya.

I only remember him playing 2 games where he scored over 25 points.

He just never did it consistently and he was playing through a knee injury and missed a lot of games.

There is good money overseas and maybe he felt like there was more ability to improve outside the college game and its instruction time limits. I don’t know if he makes the NBA but he will make good money playing the game. Maybe another year helps establish him as a team leader and primary scorer or maybe it proves he isn’t. Either way his path has always been 3 and D player and I think an extra would not have made a difference in that.

First, I want to be clear. I believe that DW should have returned to UNLV. I agree, with the information I have, that his chances for success with another college year would be much better.

Stepping back, though, I don't know what he and his people know. I have not been at the workouts. I have not talked to the NBA guys who will make the decisions. I can only guess.

I also don't know what other options are realistically available to him. I have not been in. Evenings with the G league, or even foreign teams. Again, I can only guess.

I do not know what coaches, scouts, executives, or even agents know. There may be career-defining issues that helped determine the decision. I again guess.

Finally, although money on the layout for me was return, I do hope for his success. He is a Rebel.
