Line ‘em up: Predictions and Game Thread SJSU

We are winning big at half, but we have 12 defensive rebounds and SJSU has 12 offensive rebounds. This will kill us vs good teams.

We are not bad offensively, just do not have the athletic talent we have had other years.

There are some positives but what does it matter…they can prove me wrong and beat Boise on Tuesday but I am expecting a game like Miss St.

SJSU lost to Boise by 2 last week.
At SJSU and yeah Boise is better than UNLV based on results and watching them this year. Watched their game against SDSU today and we are not on the level of those teams right now. Has UNLV played well last three games against scrubs sure, could UNLV get hot from outside and keep it close maybe. Without looking at the balance of teams each play but I would bet UNLV finishes lower than Boise in conference.

Every game we get smoked on boards and leave wide open 3's that make certain guys on the other team look like stars. I only coached as high as junior high school traveling teams and I can see things quickly. Are our coaches just too stubborn to change things up?

Rebounding has been an issue under CKK for a long time. I think his first year wasn’t too bad with Royce Hamm, Hamilton and DW.

Maybe because we switch everything defensively and our taller players (can't call them bigs since they don't play big) are away from the basket and out of position to rebound. I guess you'd modify your defensive approach to improve this issue but I never coached at any level so I don't know what I'm talking about. Neither does anyone else who sees our deficiencies year after year yet these issues keep coming up and don't get addressed.

Also, it's not laziness since "Bear" has a cool nickname and couldn't possibly be lazy or just not quick to the ball. It's a fluke that Pape tries harder and seems to have more potential.

Bears do hibernate and can be slothlike in their movements.

Since we do not have a mascot for UNLV, I was thinking this would be perfect for the UNLV basketball program slow change!
