Even though we (probably) won't land him, I like that Sanchez is trying anyways. The worst a recruit can say is "no."

I think recruiting certain kids can be as much about PR than just landing the recruit. UNLV needs to be seen seen and heard in recruiting circles or become irrelevant. This is where Hauck missed the boat. He could have capitalized on the recent bowl game year but couldn't truly convert.

I hate talking poorly about a prior coach but man...Hauck had the wrong strategy. Win or lose with Sanchez, I like how he thinks and the way he reps Las Vegas. Not too mention, he's got these kids fired up about off season conditioning and camaraderie. Have you seen the lifting session videos? Pretty cool to see these kids push each other. This has to be something the coaches have helped established as new tradition.
