QB2

Honestly, I think hes going to Tulsa. Maybe they're just waiting till all the conference stuff is played out to do so but the fact that we havent seen any conversation around his alma mater job opening seems to me that either he has no interest in leaving, or theyre focusing on the games and the rest will follow once thats played out this year.
If Marion wants to go back to his alma mater to coach at Tulsa....be my guest. That place is a crap storm.

About going to Tulsa: he'll get the benefit of the doubt because it's the alma mater. I'd guess, hypothetically, he could be bad for 3-4 years and eventually get fired, but get hired as an OC at a p4 school at that time and just blame resources.

The guy who couldn't beat out Maiava who many people on here seemed lukewarm with. Bring him in to compete, but he isn't someone I would write a huge NIL check to.
He did beat Maiava out.. The changed to Maiava so Riley could save face. He doesnt run the ball enough for our offense so hard pass, but He started 9 games for USC this year...

Depends. If Marion leaves, perhaps we have a more traditional type offense and a pocket passer would work best?

I don’t think Odom is married to an offensive style, is he?

No I don't think he is.. but realistically unless our line is also built for a pro style passer with excellent pass protection you have to be mobile to...

Mikey Keene entering portal... any interest?

Maybe but so far he looks better than Moss who had a 2:1 TD/Int ratio.

Maiva is a guy that if he cleans up some of the decision making could be a special QB.

His issue isn't arm strength. It's not accuracy. He's mobile enough.

He just has a habit of putting the ball in danger. More than you would like.

To be honest, I'm not sure Miller Moss was the only issue at USC.

Me, I’d hard pass. Kid ain’t tough.

Wouldn't love it.

Wouldn't hate it.

If you're bringing him in to compete/challenge other guys and he wins it, sure.

If you view him 'as the guy'....Not so much.

Not much of a threat with his legs.

He looks all conference one game. Why is he starting the next.

I agree I chalked some of that to being a freshman but so far it looks like he is just a gunslinger. I am curious how this season would have gone if he had stayed.

If, you want a 5 foot 10 inch QB, who can barely see over the offensive line. Then, go for it.

I wouldn't mind Miller Moss as a depth piece. Though if you thought Maiava couldn't scramble you're in for a shock. In four years at USC on 31 career careers, Miller Moss averaged 0.3 yards.

Looks, like the Titanic is sinking at the New Mexico Lobos football team.
Reports today, is that Bronco is interviewing for the Utah St job and wants the job, after only 1 year at UNM.
And, the big news is, first team Dampier is in the transfer portal.
He, got First Team All-MW as a QB. Let's, go after him.
He, has 2 years left of eligibility left.

I’d like this guy a whole lot better than that Moss Miller guy!

I don’t see why USU is a better job than UNM.

Bronco, is Mormon and is closer to his Montana home.
His, wife hated living in Alberqurque. I, think that's how you spell it.
Also, maybe he wants to go to the weak Pac, instead of the MW and "thinks" it is a better conference.

Ahh ok that makes sense then.

Why go to Utah... don't they have a deep bench at QB? Makes no sense
Jason Beck was the OC at UNM and as soon as Bronco interviewed for the Utah St job. He left.
This, was Beck's chance to get an upgrade in pay and go to the Big 12.
QB Dampier, thus followed him to Utah. Who, knows anymore in college football. There is a connection there.
Why, these football players, do the things they do.

I guess I dont care to much, the decision to just follow an OC seems strange to me, especially since hes likely to be highly wanted... but I'd like to go after 1 of theirs now that they won't be starting anytime soon

The weak Pac will have a tv contract thanks to Gonzaga. We will have nothing but an empty Mac. Football will save the Rebs, I will celebrate when we go to the Pac. MW and the little schools in the hinterlands will be left in the dust bowel of the never considered playing there.

Tulsa reached out to Marion but it Marion turned them down.

If you guys recall, both Marion and Odom were candidates in the last coaching search at Tulsa and Tulsa went with Kevin Wilson. Bad hire and lots of regret and issues at Tulsa.
