It appears that if Decker is unable to go next week, we will only have 2 QBs on the roster. It was reported that walk on Christian Lopez of Las Vegas is academically ineligible.

UNLV went from holding their own to totally disappearing when the QB went down. He has no passing game which is find with about half of the schedule, but with Michigan and BSU, that will not do.

Depth is a problem at all positions not just quarterback, but defense showed up to bad they got worn down as the game progressed. Saw more defensive stops first 2 games then all of last year..

Sherry was the savior at one time till the old staff screwed him. Go beg him to come back. Kid did have an arm. There are d-2 qbs with better arms than palandech . He's brutal to watch. We are doomed with him behind center.

I'm sure coach didn't want to burn Sneeds redshirt until he found out the extent of Deckers injury. Kevin Thomson is out; he had Tommy John surgery.

Sneed's status will depend on the severity of Dekcer's Hamstring injury. The fact he stayed on the sideline the entire game is somewhat promising. Hopefully its a minor strain and he will be healthy for Idaho State. I dont expect him back except in an emergency role this week at Michigan.

Palandech did struggle mightily . These coaches will be put to the test this week trying to get him comfortable and finding a comfort zone with him and the offense.

Sherry had a really promising freshmen year. It seemed like the Pick 6 he threw in Minnesota drained him of all his confidence. He never played well after that. He came back the following week and I think threw 3 more vs an FCS opponent. It seemed he lost confidence in what he was seeing on the field and never got it back. Stinks because he really looked the part and had a lot of potential.

It's too bad Lebowitz left....there's still another QB on the roster, Kevin Thomson, but his numbers from HS don't indicate he was much of a passer.
Thomson out for year with elbow injury. I really didn't think much of Lebowitz leaving earlier this year. Considering the possible situation we are in now it seems like a little bigger deal now if for no other reason than having a guy with game experience on the roster.

Sneed has more upside potential than Decker or Palandech, at least in my opinion. Keeping the redshirt would be nice. I think Decker will be back against idaho state.

Its always speculation until they hit the field. But I agree Sneed at least on film and reading local reports on him seems like he has the chance to be a solid player. Guys covering Arizona HS football felt he was under recruited. He put monster numbers his junior year. Senior numbers tailed off some, but I believe his top two tagets had graduated.

I think in a bad situation the ideal outcome is Palandech is able to get us through 1 if not 2 games and Sneed gets the extra reps in practice, stands right next to the OC has the headset on helps with the calls and learns from it. That way he goes through the preparation but he doesn't burn the red shirt.

Speaking of qb, at least our defense can claim they got the first clean hit against Rosen.

+1. He is head and shoulders above Palandech as a passer even with his shaken confidence. With Sanchez run first philosophy I believe he can slowly get back his confidence.

I'm really impressed with our D, the first two weeks the starters played great first halves. Our QB situation killed us against UCLA. With Decker the score would have been more palatable. Palandech isn't even a 2nd stringer, he's purely a situational player.

With Decker in the game, I think the score would have been closer to 32-17. Palandech fumbled a lot more than Decker would have. That extra pick wouldn't have been thrown, but I don't think we stood a chance against the ucla starters even with Decker, or any past rebel qb not named Randall Cummingham.

Absolutely not, no way we win with Decker. But it would have been no worse than 10-0 at half and I think 30-13, maybe better for a final. I'm very excited about Sanchez so far.
