Our BOR balks at paying a mid-major salary. How do you figure UNLV even BELONGS in a real conference?
Hold on, let me rub my magic lamp and increase our endowment by $500 million, double our athletic budget and turn our regional university into a high research institution.
With the times today there really is no other way to stay totally competitive. It will just keep getting worse from here.
These schools have so much money now salaries will just keep getting higher and higher and the mid majors will be screwed.
It will be a long time in the making but maybe someday we will have a shot.
If this does happen... Ouch, We took such a hit reputation wise after this fiasco only to end up with a second year head coach (whom most of us are happy with) that a lot of people think was overpaid, and who then is poached in less than two weeks by an average at best power 5 school with tons more money.
We paid an inexperienced coach a mil a year and couldn't hold on for two weeks. SMH.
Maybe he stays and this is all a bad dream.

The admin, BOR, staff, AD so on so on so on can all go to Hell and find a new job imho. Do something we haven't 100% done since the 90's, COMPLETELY restart.
Lmao, bet even MGM comes out of the woodwork, we have no idea! Nobody truly knows anything anymore.
