As anyone that has actually watched the first 3 weeks will attest, our defense has been really solid, despite what the numbers show. This week, they will be off the field more than before, and they won't be facing players with the ability to break tackles and open up big plays. This unit comes up big with two interceptions and a fumble recovery.

Our offense will finally be able to get rolling as the size and speed of the opposing defense go down considerably. Just for kicks, here's how the TDs will be distributed: 1 TD each for Whitely, Campbell (slams it in from short yardage), Thomas (his first big play of the season...his first chance to show his speed), and Andrew Price. 2 TDs for Boyd.

I'm going to guess 34-14 with our defense either scoring a TD or giving our offense possession within the opponent 15-yard line.

For an FCS team, Idaho State has some big boys. I expect tough game from both teams but the Rebels have more depth with 63 allowable scholarships versus FBS of 85. Like against Boise State, Idaho State will run out of gas and the Rebs will get to add late points. UNLV has grown and matured during the last 3 games fighting against bigger, faster, deeper teams. The freshman who played in these games surely benefited specifically Lex and X, Neale and a couple kids on defense. Look for the RB's to gain some decent yardage and the secondary to get a couple picks.

I just now realized that the line for this game is UNLV -3.5. WOW. I have never placed a bet in my life, and never will, but boy if I did, I would put a BIG bet on this game.

I've placed several bets in my life but never on my teams even though I knew in my heart our football team would get blown out before and the other team minus was the safest bet ever.

That being said, if I did bet UNLV football I would take the -3.5. These aren't your older brother's Rebels (I was going to say your dad's Rebels but the older teams were more successful than recent years).

This is either a very very bad spread by odds makers or they know something we don't. I don't out much credibility in it as it's an off shore line (although they are generally good too but make mistakes time to time).

I don't think Idaho state has anyone that can cover Boyd, they will be forced to double him which "should" leave lots of openings for Keys and the other receivers and for the running game. I think we win this game but if Decker isn't accurate today the game will be closer than it should. If he comes out and is making accurate throws I think we can open this game up early and never look back.

Hahaha. It added a little something extra to the awesome result seeing so many predictions come to fruition:

-2 INTs
-A fumble recovery
-Whitely, Campbell, and Thomas each with a td.
-Looks like I picked he wrong TE (Phillips instead of Price)
-Boyd still needs one more

In the end, I wasn't quite generous enough. Great win. Not quite as exciting as a one-point win, a la Hauck and Northern Colodado, but I guess I'll take it.
