Portal closing means last day to "enter". I know this confused me last year - although I'm admittedly easy to confuse.
Indeed. A saavy guy could come away with some real deals in this NIL environment. The desperation anong the stragglers during the last 3 days will be palpable.
A date to keep in mind is June 7th. That was the last date a portal entry was picked up last year.
I would think schools that signed a big money guy would have the present players on the team demanding more cash or they go into portal right before deadline.
It's the wild west out there, LOL. All of this stuff could stop if they would get clear and concise contracts. Even with regards to the number of games played, if players opt out to wait for the draft, or get a better portal offer during the season. At the very least, if a player chooses to opt out, they should not be able to collect their NIL and/or revenue sharing payments. Kind of like when guys hold out in the MLB for a new contract. You don't get paid for the time that you're holding out.
