I said it last year and I will say it again is Savon Goodman. That dude was tough. He had an NBA ready body when he showed up as a freshman. With him and Cornish on the floor together I don't think UNLV would get pushed around and abused like we have been. We would have played a lot more physical than we did last night.
Kendal Smith leaving has hurt our depth but I don't think as much as Daquan going out with injury. That really has turned the point guard position into a real sore spot. And then on top of that I am wondering if JK might be getting ready to pack it in. I have no idea what his frame of mind is but man you gotta feel bad for the guy after getting yanked at the 18:40 mark of the 2nd half and didn't return until around the 5 minute mark and was promptly pulled after an ugly shot attempt a minute later. That wouldn't bother me too much most seasons but this year we can't afford to lose any more bodies.

I miss Anthony Marshall the most (recently). kid showed so much heart, played a position he wasn't used to playing, with a ton of new faces and stayed the whole time and put the team on his back when he needed to. He wasn't perfect, and he had his shooting struggles, but every year he got better and developed.

I was referring to players that still have college eligibility left. If I could go back in time I think I would take LJ or the Hammer and maybe throw in Robert Smith and Air Hunt. Ah if only pigs had wings!

Yeah its too bad we had a player make a selfish decision to be a punk and do what he did... Missed him last yr, miss him this year, especially where him Carter, and Cornish would be sort of bash brother 3's...

Well, it's pretty safe to say had Anthony Bennet stayed, he would be a dominant force. He would be a Junior. So, for me, it's a no brainer that Anthony Bennett is the player UNLV misses the most that has eligibility remaining.

Khem Birch is also a huge loss. Khem had 15 double-doubles last year. Blocked 124 shots, and impacted countless others. He played with heart. He was dependable. Was well liked by his teammates and the fans. Brought alot of intangibles to the table that would really help a team with 5 freshman. Khem and Wood together would make a serious 1-2 combo inside on both defense and offense. They did so last year, and Wood is better and stronger than last season. Okonoboh is not yet strong enough to defend good post players. And, the lack of strength also hurts him on offense. With Khem on this years team, Okonoboh could come off the bench.

I'd put Roscoe Smith just behind Khem. Would be nice to have either one of those guys. Another player who averaged a double-double.... Had 16 double-doubles last year... 2 games with over 20 rebounds, another with 19 and 2 with 15. I'd take Khem over Roscoe because of the shot blocking ability. .

Shot blocking ability hasn't meant jack in the past couple years cause the opposing team usually gets the ball back anyway and scores after that. Guards need to seal off the backside but game after game they get caught under the hoop.

we've had to rely on shot blocking because none of the guards can't stop penetration. it's pathetic.

I don't miss Anthony Marshall.

Power guard who bullied his way to the basket. Couldn't shoot, couldn't run the pick n roll.

Savon Goodman? We got Dwayne Morgan..same style.

Here is what we are missing. Experience and coaching. I don't like to see a pro set in crunch time. Run a specific play. what Vaughn did in the last 2
Possessions is what Bryce and Marshall did. Bully their way to the
Basket and hope to get a foul.

And I think Doolin is getting winded.he's not effective even though he's
Got tons of experience.

McCaw is getting tons of experience that will help us next year.
