Am surprised that there has not been more mention of this, but this team over the past two weeks has been nothing like the one which started the season, and the biggest difference, and truly the only one that has mattered has been the play of Patrick McCaw.
He began this season playing lights out. Shooting, defending, and creating like he was a conference POY candidate. However, in the past two weeks something has changed. He lacks focus, he lacks energy, and he genuinely looks like his head is miles away from the floor.
We all know the real type of player that Pat is. He is a coach's dream. I refuse to rip his recent performance because I fear there is something which has him distracted. Am not asking what it is, am only saying I hope he is ok and that it is nothing serious. He seems like an even better kid than he is player and we can only hope whatever it is with him is not serious and he can once again find the joy in playing basketball - when he does he brings the same to us.
Go Rebels.
