OT: Golden Knights Stanley Cup Edition

What a f*cking game.
Kids are running around screaming, I’m trying to catch my breath after that ending sequence. What a game. Worried about the Knights against FLA in tight games.

Let’s wrap this mutha up
Can you tell FLA does not like to lose? It will be a helluva game 5
They battle. They lose their cool a lot but they battle. And I don’t think closing will be easy. FLA has been the underdog for the past couple of months and survived this long.

But I do think that if the Knights bring their A game, even if FLA brings their A+ game, VGK closes. Unless Bob gets a shutout.

Everyone focuses on goals. The VGK defense has been really, really good. And Hill Has played better than anyone could have (realistically) hoped.

Yeah, did anybody notice the Bayer aspirin commercial talking about heart attacks rooting for your favorite team?

It'll be interesting to see if Fla goes complete cheap-shot crazy in game 5 knowing it's a long shot for them to come back.

Given that I'm the hockey expert here, since last night was the first game I watched all season, I forgot how intense 1-goal games are in the last 2-3 minutes. As said previously, you can't breathe that entire time. If you aren't watching intently then you're dead.

Eichel pissed me off when he had that sniper chance with, I think, 4-5 minutes left where he shot it into the goalie. A 2-goal lead would have been much better than 1 for all of our health.

Clean game till the ending where FL uglied it up after losing. I get it. They are going to do whatever they can to salvage the series since they are in such a hole. Hockey isn't touch football (I mean the NFL, sorry). Physicality happens and is good for that game.

Ditched quiet riot to watch the game.

Prepare for Tuesday. Where are you guys going to riot? I’m headed towards the strip!!

Your kids are going to be weened on hockey and not sucky UNLV basketball.

I didn't even realize this happened...

I’ll take them to UNLV basketball games … but they don’t enjoy it. I can’t force them to enjoy it.

Most hoops games start too late, football times can work better. They’re fine with that but football is long and they tend to drift.

This contributes to our poor attendance (to a certain degree). Many people who may pay for season tickets don’t want to get home at 10-11pm on a weekday only to have to wake up early for work the next day (you don’t settle down and sleep for another hour). This is especially true when they televise the games.

I’ve heard people on here often saying, “if I lived in LV then I’d go. Locals have no excuse.” We do have a valid excuse if we previously were season ticket holders for 20 years going to sometimes two home games a week. Especially when it affects my work the next day.

When I see 8pm start times for MBB I shake my head at that. When I see them for football, that’s even worse.

**End of my old man rant**

If I had my kids at a normal kid having age, I’d have probably had a problem with it 25 years ago. It’s hitting me now since I had kids so late. And we don’t do a babysitter thing, either her and/or I (depending on work schedules) watch the kids. And we are pretty regimented with their schedules. If it’s a late game, as most are, if she’s here, I go. If she works, I’m at home with them and just flip on the tube. But given the shortages at work (near critical levels) we both have to work a ton and it’s tough to plan anything because a lot of the “have to work” is about an hour notice. It sucks because it’s been this way a couple of years now.

Is Vegas ready for tonight's game and its aftermath? Mass shooting in Denver this morning following the game..

10 people injured in what authorities believe to be a drug-related shooting. Fortunately, no life-threatening injuries. That would be just another day in LV

Maybe Vegas dont know yet the gravity of a NHL championship. World wide, there is soccer then there is hockey.

The game's in the refrigerator, the door's closed, the light's out, the eggs are cooling, the butter's getting hard and the jello's jiggling!
Only in Vegas where you see hockey's fans wear beanies at the game. It is like watching country bumpkins hitting the city for the first time.

Congratulations to Coach Cassidy and the Knights. And huge congrats to Vegas.

Dude I didn’t watch the game. I took a nap and then the bus dropped me off after the game ended and went outside to T Mobile Arena.

What a happy joyous occasion.

I got a woman’s phone number. Her brother got mad at me cause I wouldn’t shut up

Did any of you go to the strip? The place was pandemonium.

This guy doesn't deserve any attention but I couldn't believe he is a NHL writer for the sharks.

He might be closer to a Waddilove than a beat writer or working for a newspaper though?

You know, if FLA had one I could see it. 8 seed. But damn. The VGK did a great job. Limited penalties, shared the puck, contributions top to bottom. If that doesn't define team...

Dude..did the panther player who didn’t suit up for game 5, did he quit? Lol.

Must have hurt a finger nail.

Hey I know everyone has kids but it is imperative that you bring your little ones to the parade.

It’s important that they know what winning must feel like and to be a part of it.

Kids remember these times for the rest of their life.
