One of the worst effects of the past 3 years of foly, is that it doesn't really matter if Dave does a good job or not managing his team. He could be Coach K this week and it wouldn't change anything. The opposing coach only has to do one thing to win.... get his team to believe that if you put pressure on the Rebels, they will fold.
Talk about it all week in film, hammer it home. Your players are going to be up to play UNLV anyway, just get them to believe that if the game is close in the last 5 minutes, you will win as long as you keep fighting. The Rebels will fold, it's our culture now.
It doesn't matter what Dave does to prep for Wyoming. Shyatt is currently getting his players to believe. And it will stay close the whole the game, because they believe, and we will lose in the end.
There's blood in the water.
The culture of losing will continue to erode what is left of the program. UNLV attracts losers. The losers will continue to disengage to spare themselves blame and self awareness. They will, if not already, believe themselves that they will fold. They will play well for 10 minutes here or there, but everyone will expect the coming meltdown, then the glazed over looks will start. Teammates will avoid eye contact with each other and the staff.
