A lot of Vegas kids, who played for other schools, will finally get their chance to play for him. The 4 years of their high school careers they've known about Sanchez and Gorman and watched his team demolish everyone. Here's there chance to stay home and play for someone they've, deep downn, wanted to play for since they were even younger kids.

I met a local high school coach at a bar in town after the Sanchez announcement and he said that 2 of his kids decommited from UNLV because they didn't want to be coached by a high school coach again (post high school)

Well too bad for those kids it looks like they will miss playing for one of the more experienced staffs on the West Coast. Not sure we even had 2 local commits, but if so glad the scholarships are freed up so we can get Sanchez and company recruits not Haucks.

What two kids? I hadn't seen any local kids that committed to UNLV.

BTW, if this is their reasoning what do they say about the new assistant coaches who are heads and tails better than Haucks crew?

I believe the "dead" period extends another 2 weeks. Be interesting to see which names emerge as the recruiting season opens up.

All I can say about that HS coach you talked to is that he is a liar.

UNLV has (0) Zero commits from any local players under coach Hauck. So for him to say that two (2) kids de-committed is really funny. In fact, only one kid had committed to UNLV prior to coach Sanchez being hired.

A little jealousy perhaps? Either that or they had just verbally commited and it wasn't official yet. Either way I would assume that he didn't like getting his ass handed to him every time.

Win big or not it isn't like he can do any worse and if he is bringing in the rumored money he is to the program and it is a no brainer.

The only public commit I'd heard about was Sneed. Now, if he'd said two prospective local UNLV recruits scratched the Rebels off their lists, that would make sense. No matter. I'm excited to see what kind of class Sanchez brings in on "short notice," and I'm sure it will be just fine.

Sorry if I used the wrong terminology. Prob retracted Verbals or something. It could be that the guy was a complete lier as well. Who knows. I thought I would just throw it out there. I am pretty stoked for UNLV FB and will be renewing my tickets as always.
