If we continue to win the rest of the regular season but don't win the tournament, which is pretty likely unless we keep turning the ball over, we should get a decent bid to the NIT. A home game would be nice. I would go.

No it’s not. Means nothing. UNLV needs to finish in he top 5 of this conference. They have proved that they have a good shot of winning the MWCT.

They have proved they can win and they have also shown they can lose. Last night was a great win but we also had 18 turnovers.

We can't do that against SDSU and expect a win, let alone the MWCT tournament.

If UNLV can win out the regular season and win a couple of games in the MWC tournament, I think they still could get into the dance without winning the MWC tournament. What I still can't figure out is how most of the polls still have Utah ranked in front of UNLV.

I'm as optimistic a Rebel Fan as they come but even if we run the table and lose in the Mountain West Final we will not get a automatic bid into the tourney. The committee will see we finished 3rd in our conference have an RPI that will be in the mid 60's is my guess and a strength of schedule around 150. The only thing we would have going for us is 9-1 in our last 10 games and only one of those wins against a possible tourney team (Boise State) on our home floor.

(Edit) Okay I just realized we would have another win against UNR but then also a loss to them in that scenario. But still not going to be enough.

Agreed that only winning the conference tournament would get us in the NCAAs.

Even in that scenario mentioned above we would no doubt get a high seed in the NIT. Which, considering where we were as a program last year is pretty damn impressive.
