New signee

These are the types of builds that can compete on a national stage. The guy who left us to go to Baylor (and I think win the natty) had this physique as well.

Lately, all we’ve seen are projects or guys needing to get into this shape.

Hope Dembele’s production matches his potential!

These stats for only a little over 16 minutes per game. 38% from 3.

I like this pick and fills a need in roster construction. Also, after watching CJP 1 in 4 out motion offense where Bigs shoot the 3 he will fit in nicely.

46.7% FG seems low for a guy who is mostly around the rim getting put-backs. Hope he’s not a guy who misses a lot of gimmees.
He's really more of a jumpshooter. Most of his garbage buckets are when someone switches the screen on him and he can roll with the smaller guy to the cup and work the offensive glass.

His play style is more Moser or Odartey than Essengue or Tony Lane. Before anyone chirps I don't think he's nearly as good as Moser, or Odot, but he's got more of a face up offensive game and can play on the pick and roll, pick and pop, or off a hook into the elbow. I think that the 1-4 has a little bit of overlap to McCaffery's Rotation Continuity offense, at least for the 3s and 4s.

The guy coming in is an instant starter, his numbers are a “double, double” so that along with the coaching change plays into it!

The guy is someone Josh identified as a “fit” so I will leave it there.

I do hope that his offense improves here, Josh develops guys, so I’m hoping for the best for the new Dembele!
