That was a shocking result. UNM been playing better recently but I didn't expect that
Eeesh. That was rough, but not as bad as OSU getting skunked by Air Force.
We were yelling “meet the metrics” at the sdsu crowd after every touchdown.
That was a nice win for the MW. Should help Bronco on the recruiting trail. God knows we need NM to step it up and this may be the boost they needed.
Bronco is a really good coach. He, has turned New Mexico around in year 1.
He, would get my Mountain West Coach of the year vote, if they beat Hawaii in 2 weeks.
They, would also be bowl eligible with the 6th win.

Another one going against the grain of slow growth.
Regardless of how they finish the year, there is a very clear and demonstrable change in the program, not some infinitesimal microscopic change from staff to staff. You could very easily blend our past half dozen seasons together and not know who was the coach.
While it is possible to quickly improve football programs, you must understand that basketball teams have far fewer players, so take much longer to improve! 🤣🤣🤣
Also, Air Force defeated Oregon State 28-0! Further, Air Force defeated Fresno last week. All the PAC has is Boise.
Unfortunately they still have CSU who must lose for UNLV to have a chance for a bsu re-match.

… When you recruit a similar level of talent and you don’t have high expectations and the offensive and defensive schemes are purchased from the 101 aisle at the 99 cent store … then it is tough to turn a basketball program around.
Slow growth is for suckers.
Ever notice how every coach (or politician even) is the greatest thing in the world, no matter who they are, even if they aren’t qualified …. And they are fully backed no matter the losses, even if their strategy/policies make zero sense to you personally, that makes your allegiance even stronger…. People call out the faults …. You dig in even deeper, no matter how irrational it is, you become mentally paralyzed and keep doubling down and tripling down when people are calling out the incredibly obvious faults … and you hang on for dear life until the bitter end … and then somebody worse is hired/run and you repeat the process?
Yeah, we got that going with a chunk of fans. Coach fans. They like the coach more than the school. The cannot admit being wrong/failure. They’ll disappear before admitting they were wrong.
Bizarre phenomenon
I have noticed that many of the voices that had been supporting Kruger have disappeared into the shadows!
I support him. I don’t think he’s doing a good job, I hope he turns it around.
But when people firmly plant and loudly scream in support of something … you know, the I know more than you types that are incessant, they leave no gray. Poof, they disappear. From twitter, from here, from Facebook, etc. Or, if they do return, they try and soften or completely rewrite their history.
It’s lame, it’s fragile minded garbage.
Does UNLV playing Boise in the MWC championship even matter long term? Even if CSU wins their last 2? Just my opinion, but the best scenario for UNLV is to win the last two games and their bowl game. Even if UNLV doesn’t play in the MWC championship, with UNLV currently ranked 23, they would move up into the top 20 and potentially around 15th in the nation. That would be HUGE! Especially since conference realignment is not completed.
I get your point. But a place in the college football playoff would get you labeled as truly big time.

UNLV beats SJSU
CSU loses to Fresno (or below)
Army loses to ND
Next week:
Tulane loses to Memphis
UNLV beats UNR
(Or) CSU loses to Utah State
Champ Week:
UNLV beats Boise
Then we are in the playoffs.
It could happen, right?
To be honest, I just want to beat SJSU and then see what happens from there. One game at a time.
No way to equal going to the CFP. There will be millions watching those games not to mention the payout. If we managed to go and somehow keep it respectable like even 31-17ish that would help even more.
