Mullen in ESPN: "The Best Show in Town"

Great article, following CDM from the SEC to UNLV.

I think Mullen is here for the long haul!

It is one of the reasons I have traded my negative view for a more positive view. Because of our HC’s in football and basketball. I can see they have a plan because they have been successful HC’s elsewhere. And because of that we can get an idea of what they are capable of doing here in a short period of time, not 4 years from now.

When guys like Kevin and Arroyo were here it was impossible to see either of them becoming winners.

Well now the “clown shows” are long gone with Mullen and Pastner and I for one am very upbeat about the future!

So does that mean when Scrub goes to ESPN he sees granny porn?
Remember Krystyle from the Boston Pizza video? She was a grandma.

I’m culturally offended by that statement.

I didn’t know they WERE forming a professional softball league on ESPN.

Rankings of 1st year hires in 2025.
Barry Odom and Dan Mullen, side-by-side together at the 4 and 5 spot.
Bronco Mendenhall is a good head coach but at number 2. I, just don't see it.

How do you think Bill Belichick feels being ranked third on that list?
I know that it's for the college ranks but the guy won multiple NFL Championships. Not College championships, NFL. "But Bronco led BYU to (insert innocuous bowl game here)."

I have family who are WVU grads so I can't argue that one. 🤣

I'd have Mullen higher on that list and move Bronco down.

I think its ranking "best hire" its not necessarily "best hire".. like for example, Bronco to USU is a really good hire, doesnt mean he will finish top 2 record wise... For a program like UNLV coming off the season that we had only get Mullen at 5... He probably ends up with the best record of the bunch...

Many coaches have said they'd rather their fan base be angry than apathetic when things aren't going well, because at least you know they still care. But this quote shows that he 'gets it:'

"What I'm learning, if you win here, they love you. You are it. If you lose, they just don't really care, because there's a bunch of other things for them to go do."

Unfortunately, that can add to the longevity of an under-performing coach, CKK Exhibit A

I am OK with Bilicheck being a bit down on the list. I don't think he has ever coached at the College level in his life. Granted it is essentially pro sports now, so there is that. But that level of development? I don't know.

He also did not perform well his last few years in New England, as a coach and essentially the general manager.

He is the GOAT in terms of NFL coaches. No denying that. I just don't think it means it will necessarily translate to college ball.

I’m a Broncos fan and hated the Pats!

Say what you want about Brady and Bill personally, they aren’t high on the hang out list but as coach and qb you have to give it up to them, they are winners.

Bill didn’t do to much after Tom left but he still calls the defense well in games!
