Menzies just needs time

No one's holding a gun to your head. I assume you have the ability to decline renewing your season tickets and avoid the Thomas and Mack? Seriously, if you want to drop the Rebels then drop them. Just quit the whining. Everyone knows we have a long friggin way to go. Everyone should know we're NEVER going to reach Tark-era greatness again.

I see much improvement. And, much to work on... On to football!!!
Yes indeed, much improvement and much to work on. Guard play is the key in the college BB game, especially big guards that can get their own shots. Hopefully the 2 guys we have coming in next year can start to address that shortcoming. Would love to know what the long term plan is for Hardy, is it at the 1 or 2 spot? If it isn't the 1 we really need a long term solution there.

Thankfully Sanchez & DRF are gonna restore our Men's BB program. You ask how could that be. With the new FB facility coming online next year and the stadium right around the corner recruits are gonna want to come here and other big time schools will want to come play on the Fabulous Las Vegas Strip baby! The only way to get all the way back is getting to the Power 5 and football is the Golden Ticket.

Go Rebels!

Anyone who's tired of making excuses and are 'done' with the Rebels and Menzies. I understand the frustration with the program from a long-term pov but it's NOT understandable to me why people are dumping on Menzies after 2 years(really 1 year because his first year was a train wreck that he had nothing to do with). But whatever, there I go making excuses for the guy.

Yeah, and not for the better! :flush:

That’s the point. He made the tournament with Kruger’s players. When Rice got his own players, the results got worse.

If Menzies is a much better coach than Rice, then his results should be better when he gets his own players.

I’m tired of making excuses for this program. Over it
If you want to be “over it”, be our guest. Those of us who are willing to give Coach Menzies a reasonable amount of time to try and fix the program, will hold our opinions until he’s had at least the requisite three seasons that we discussed upon the hiring of any coach.

As has been pointed out, on numerous occasions, this has been, for all purposes, Menzies’ first real season. Quitting on him, at this point, shows an extreme lack of patience. You’re entitled to that, but don’t expect the rest of us to applaud your rashness.

Personally, I’m going to see what strides are made in season two. I expect to see improvements in the cohesiveness of the team, as we should have several returning players who will have a seasons-worth of understanding of the Coach’s system.

If, by season three, we’re not yet challenging for the conference title, I may begin to question where the program is headed. But even then, there are numerous factors that need to be considered. Creating an automatic formula for success or failure precludes the human components that go into any team.

By all means, you should be done with UNLV Basketball. You won’t be satisfied with any result, short of a Final Four appearance. I fear you’ll be disappointed.

ZZZzzzZZZ. Tell me about all of the conference championships we’ve challenged for, and I’ll tell you why I’m tired of making excuses for this program.
