Can't let that bother you, he was never gonna bring the kind of talent here that he has there.
That would be a very uninspiring hire to say the least. Would rather take Augmon over Menzies.

Hopefully TKM is on her way out. I believe her contract is up next year and she's done nothing to deserve an extension.

I'd rather have Larry Eustachy than Menzies, much better coach.
I haven't watched a single game by Menzies. For that matter, I haven't watched a single game from any coach that has been mentioned besides Simon - Augmon - Miller, and Frank Martin.
As we've been going through this process, the extent of my research has been to go to Wikipedia and look at their record and post season results. The first guy looked great. The second guy looked great. The third guy looked great. They all look very good or great. Again, I know nothing of the style, recruiting, or other variables: just results.
That said, WHEN ALL YOU LOOK AT IS RESULTS, Marvin doesn't look that different than the other coaches.
Just putting it out there. Guy deserves real consideration. Way more than Augmon. Not saying he's my first choice...just sayin'...

9 years of modest success head coaching in the WAC doesn't necessarily warrant way more consideration than Stacey Augmon to me.
I'm not sure if Stacey can be a head coach or not but I'd rather watch him try than see a guy like Menzies get the job.

You can also look at the teams they've played. Menzies plays in a conference full of teams I've never heard of. If you look a little closer you can discern the coaches who have cred and the coaches who built their records on mountains of cupcakes.
If he's such a good coach why's he been stuck in NM for so long? Surely a bigger school would have snapped him up already........

Look at Menzies' record in the NCAA, vs. Top25 and even top100-ranked teams, etc. The very definition of small-time.
I've made my feelings clear about Augmon, but i'd take him 100% over this clown...

Menzies is a charlie spoon type of hire. We need a nationally respected coach to get this thing out of the dumpsters. This guy, regardless of his coaching tree is NOT that. My season tickets will not be renewed for this clown.

Marvin Menchey, oh absolutely he would be an incredible Head Coach for your basketball team as a matter of fact, I would hire him right now and skip the interview and not call ANY coaches who are currently coaching at UofL or anywhere else for that matter. By the way I just accidentally dropped my cell phone in the toilet just in case you try calling this number again.
Kruger- Hey Tanya I mean Tina, Melvin, sure he would be the best candidate by far and just what UNLV deserves, I mean needs. By the way, were you really going to give that ginger leprechaun $3 mil? Fisher- Hello Tina, of course I've heard of Mervin Menzies and I believe he would be an outstanding head Coach and just the man to take UNLV back to its glory days and bring home a NC to the T&M and just for the record, in no way does my endorsement of Mervin have anything to do with ensuring SDSU continues to dominate UNLV and maintain our status quo. I truly have the best interest of UNLV at heart.
