UNLV needs to be making similar moves to stay within sight of a P4 invite!
It's kind of retarded when you consider that both Boise and Reno were D2 and they had no issues. There is no difference between hi-end FCS and low end FBS. Nothing at all. In fact, they probably have better programs at hi-end FCS.Go look at all future MWC conference game ratings across all outlets and get back to me. And take out any P4 matchups that inflate them. Another way to look at it. ESPN put NDSU and South Dakota State on why not UNM? Or SJSU? Reno got on but that was vs SMU.
PAC didn't add any FCS but Texas State might be in play. You think Texas State was on their bingo card at the start of this.
NDSU is a better option for the MWC than any FBS school they can reasonably entice.
You want NMSU?

Also, the Sam Houston game is not going to be a pushover like Utah Tech was last year. I am legit concerned with that first game. Another program that was FCS not long ago.
I'd like to see prioritization of Sac State. Even before their recent development, they are already in the footprint, are natural geographic rivals with SJSU and UCDavis, are in a major city, and now appear to have funding that could catapult them well ahead of all or most MWC schools.Agreed.
Minimum you add NDSU.
I'd also be on the phone with SAC State. They are putting money into the program now. Have made some splashy hires. That equals eyeballs on tv. Large TV market as well.
Are they as good as their dad’s..Just some stuff on Sac St, there's been huge movement on NIL since around Oct 2024 if I recall, initial securing of $35mm with an eventual goal of $75mm+ from the (SAC-12?) I think was the group name, committee or whatever. I am pretty sure all their sports are going to me moving up very very soon.
On top of that, Shaq was just announced to be their basketball "GM" to work on recruiting (though how much he will do is to be seen as he is doing this voluntarily), brand deals, NIL and some other things. Think Mike Bibby is the HC there now? Shaq's son was Bibby's first official commit.
Think they are getting serious if all this chatter around the web and twitter are to be believed.

Sac State has a lot of potential, but I think Grand Canyon has far more. If Grand Canyon decides to get into football, they have the money to also make an immediate impact with a bigger market and a much bigger Alumni base.100%
If you're looking to add do you look at upside (Sac State) or a known commodity with little room/ability to grow (NMSU)? Maybe NMSU could but we're talking the need of a major influx of booster support.
I think thats why UTEP was taken over NMSU. Similiar results (NMSU better but not great) but UTEP has shown recent investment and is 3x the population base.
You realize Hawaii's TV value is very underrated... They wont be renewing with Spectrum and the value of the entire Islands is a very lucrative addition... Much better than anything Sac St. brings to the table.Dump Hawaii. Give them to the PAC leftovers.
Pick up Sac State and SJSU can be partners.
