Lending Tree Bowl

UNLV is eligible to add game for playing at Hawaii, UNLV nope will let it play out. Going to mobile, will be money loser for program, UNLV won't sell 300 tickets to go to mobile.

Plus a beat down is not good either, team doesn't deserve A bowl losing to Hawaii.
Most bowl games, you end up way on the short end of the monetary stick … but you play them.

I'm biased and understand Mobile isn't the most glamorous bowl destination, but it isn't terrible. We have a nice downtown entertainment district with good restaurants, bars and nice hotels. Beautiful beaches an hour away, good seafood and the bowl folks go out of their way to entertain the players, band/cheer and fans during their stay.

The December 17th (Saturday) 4:45pm kick makes for easier travel. The game has also been moved to South Alabama's new on campus stadium - Hancock Whitney Stadium which is really nice

If you do come, I highly suggest booking a downtown hotel as that's where most of the bowl events (Mardi Gras parade, pep-rally, fireworks, bars/restaurants, etc) happen and you can easily and safely walk to everything.

If you receive the Lending Tree invite, I know many of you won't travel to Mobile but for those that do, please feel free to reach out with any questions about your trip. I'll be glad to offer any assistance and answer all questions.

Great info and very tempting. I like heading down south … never been to Alabama, I love seeing new places.

I've never felt so bad about making a joke.

Ha! Living in Alabama I've heard them all so no worries.

I think most people who travel to the deep South leave with a positive impression or at least I hope they do.

We have our economic and social issues but so does every other city in the country. Wear your UNLV gear around town and I guarantee you'll have more random local people want to speak to you, ask about your stay, help with directions, offer food/drink, etc than you can shake a stick at (excuse the grammar ;))

We had a similar response when we traveled to La Tech a few Years ago. The local fans were also very gracious at the game. A contrast to the fans in northern Nevada.

I really did feel bad. I usually don't, because I'm typically making fun of Reno and they absolutely deserve it.

If UNLV gets the invite I might actually make the trip.

Southern hospitality for the win.

The south are rednecks. Reno are inbreds. Big difference. Well, west va is inbreds too.
Well you may have different view if you visit...

I believe the less offensive term is Hillbilly.

I've never been to Mobile but I went to Huntsville and absolutely loved it. I couldn't believe how clean it was and beautiful downtown area too. Not sure how it compares but if anything like Huntsville...

We own an investment property in Trussville Alabama, a nice suburb of Birmingham, our realtor sold the city to us saying it has the 2nd best school system in Alabama, whatever that means. 🤔

I was there in April to look at the house we bought sight unseen and then I was in Tuscaloosa this past weekend for Alabama v Auburn. I also went to Alabama v LSU there a couple years ago (Joe Burrow year)

So, I will not be going to the Bowl game, twice in one year is definitely enough Alabama for one year… it’s different, very different.

Birmingham is one ugly city, going to the airport took me through some of the neighborhood, which was weird, and not nice. Huntsville though is a very nice city. Orange Beach too.
