Twelfth seat if I'm lucky
Not one assistant has resigned nor has any player decided to transfer out since Arroyo was let go.

Do they all love our school that much or is the “love” for Arroyo not as strong as it’s played up?

We will get assistants who do change jobs and players that do leave but, so far, none have voluntarily left as a knee-jerk reaction.

A few possibilities that cover coachescand players.

Potential for bowl bid still exists.

Resign before then and checks stop. (I could be wrong but I believe assistants are paid till end of year).

Assistants might want to interview for job. Sounds silly on surface, but just going through interview process could better prepare them for future opportunities.

Still pretty fresh.

Players may want to see if assistants get other gigs. And follow them.

Some players who have already transferred (Bailey and White for example) Would have to sit a year if they don't have degree yet. Not sure if that's as palatable as it was in the past.

If the players were so devoted to Arroyo then there would have been knee jerk reactions to his departure. That’s all I’m saying.

Waiting to play in some crappy bowl for a school that you feel distanced from won’t prevent someone from announcing that they are transferring.

Possible.

But they are also linked to coordinators and assistants, who may have said let's see how this plays out.

Other players across the country have entered the portal already. It seems like the UNLV players are at least willing to see who’s hired and consider staying. That said, if we don’t have a coach hired by this weekend I imagine names will start going in as guys have to do what’s best for them and can’t wait around on UNLV forever.

Espn radio interviewed Adam Plant the other day and he stated that it was unfortunate but part of the business of college football. He seemed a little bummed. THEN, the interviewer brought up the name Gary Patterson (who he was recruited by) and his whole demeanor changed when he said that would be an amazing hire for the program.

That was telling. Players want to play for a damn good coach, not a half ass coach acting like a buddy to them.

Is Plant a senior? If not, hiring Patterson could keep him here. He needs a lot more development, he is not a guy in the draft as is!

Interestingly timed post!

Plant public announced his plans to submit for NFL draft this afternoon
