Kasey Dunn changed his mind

Any word on how much more money he parlayed the threat of UNLV into at OK St?

Yeah, can’t really blame the guy tbh and I don’t think he played us. Sucks for us but I’m more worried about the defensive hires than offensive.

He likely will make at least double what he would be paid at UNLV, and changed his mind based on a change in circumstances and position at OK St. not based on a straight pay raise.

Trying to poach a P5 coach that has actual value is tough. If the school they’re at really wants them, they have much more to offer. If they’re dispensable, they won’t counter ... and let’s be honest, you cannot blame P5 coaches if they are using UNLV, UNM, etc, right now. It’s what you do to get more cash, more time and/or a better position. Each and every one of us would do the same in that position and unless UNLV hits an important unique aspect (they have most of their family here, for example), they’ll lose out to P5.

This isn’t a UNLV thing. It’s a P5 vs not P5 thing.

Exactly. Its a numbers game. Would take unique circumstances to pry away a coach.
