Jon Rothstein says Joel told him he's entering the draft .

I don't think he's ready but I guess that's what the G-league is for. Idk, I just don't see him putting up the monster stats that CWood and Derrick Jones did on their way to the NBA.

I don't think he's ready either. Maybe he needs a pay check and would rather learn in the GL.

I too agree that he isn't ready. I'd like to see him stay and improve his coordination.

The starting salary in the G League is a whopping $35,000/year. That's $7K per month for the 5 month season.

According to the Sun, he is not hiring an agent and may return. Not sure what the time line for deciding one way or another is, but clearly he is worth giving some space.

They have a lot of basketball leagues all over the world that pay 6 figure plus salaries, so he always has the option of those leagues.

If he does not sign with an agent, he would almost have to come back to unlv if he comes back. Being invisible for a year transferring does not make any sense if he wants to get to league quickly.

It’s Joel wanting to be evaluated, get some exposure w NBA scouts. If he returns or not that’s up to him. He could probably make some coin in Europe... that said he would be a perfect fit in Coach Otzelberger’s system. Love the kids heart and energy and wish him the best either way!
