It will be fun to see UNLV back to being a scoring team! Things look really bright for the future of UNLV basketball, now the coach needs to produce in the win column!
From Mark Anderson of the Review Journal - some intangible benefits of having David Jenkins as he sits out a year is he essentially becomes another coach that can teach the new system Otz brings.
I like hearing him say that he feels he has been an underdog his whole life and feels he has to work for things. The team needs people like that. Much better than the spoiled person that is lazy because people are constantly worshipping them.
This was from a Spokane Washington (Gonzaga) paper:
"The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Jenkins averaged 19.7 points as a sophomore. He put up 16.1 points per game as a freshman. He’s a career 42% 3-point shooter while averaging 3.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists.
Jenkins has two seasons of eligibility, but he’s expected to sit out next season under NCAA transfer rules. The Tacoma native was rated No. 2 among sit-out transfers by ESPN."
