Is one of y'all pretending to be a South Carolina fan?

.

I really hope they look at the seeding in the off season and do what the NCAA does in basketball, seed the 12 that qualify in order starting with best team through 12th best.
Why. The P4s already get preferred treatment and seeding. I like that the top 4 seeds go to the highest ranked conference champions. Rewards winning your conference championship rather than voters opinions.

It created these blowouts that are unwatchable. I hope the seeding improved next year. You got Ohio State vs Oregon in second round which should have been reserved for a later date. If this type of selection continues the SEC and the BIG will break off from the NCAA sooner rather later.

I like that the auto bids go to conference champions because it somewhat punishes super conferences. Chase the money that's cool, but there are consequences too.

Exactly. There is not one person who believes that BSU or ASU were top 4 teams.

well only 4 worst conference champions get play in games.
Not a good formulation. Those champions like Boise and ASU may not measure up. Conference champions in the CFP yes but not the bye game unless the SOS warranted it.

What was the one point, Tim?
There was some concern on the board that turning down the G5-PAC invite potentially played a role in CGO taking the Purdue job. It was all about the $$$$ for CGO. Nothing more. Can’t blame him because who would turn down an extra $200k per month.

Me too but it doesn’t matter whatever the B12 and SEC want is what will happen and you won’t see Boise with a top 4 seed ever again.

This is why we should root for Boise as UNLV fans. Maybe not root, but at least want them to win.
Retaining him will be the issue.
If it is true that adding relatively low buyout clause was a must for his contract it means he will bolt just like Odom at the first p4 opportunity.
Which is fine. You still do what you can to get him here. Just know, like so many players, he is likely a rental.

Until we are in a P4 every coach or player should be considered that way. Now, we just showed we are willing to compete financially with several bottom to mid-tier P4 programs for salary and NIL/revenue sharing so it'll take offers like 7 million a year to pull a coach away but it still there

Bottom line is money. It doesn't matter what conference UNLV belong to. If UNLV draw 50k per game at Allegiant and winning all or most of the games. UNLV will make money. That is all that matter. BIG, SEC, Big 12 are all about money. If UNLV can make money within the MWC equivalent to the P2 conferences, why would we worry about which conference UNLV is belong to?

Because 25 million dollars a year in addition to the attendance dollars is needed to be competitive

Maybe. Money is the bighest factor here of course.
But the college playoff is new and likely to be tweaked. Boise showed what you can do in the G5 potentially. But does everything stays the same?
If they get blown out, maybe not. Or G5 will be locked into the 12 seed in perpetuity.

I disagree. The home field advantage in these games was off any known charts. The fans clearly viewed themselves as having a big role in the out come and really made their presence felt.
The games should be played on a neutral field just like basketball. The higher seeds advantage should only be that they play a lower seed.
