Indiana with no players remaining

This is the way it is a lot of the time and this year it’s our turn, I don’t know about anyone else but I’m glad Josh is hear handling things going forward.

He has a plan for attacking the portal and is a good recruiter, let’s see what happens here now!

I'm actually glad Tark isn't with us to witness what college basketball has turned into. This is pathetic. I can't believe people still watch this garbage.
Tark and UNLV had a national following. Even more powerful than Gonzaga does now. He would have cleaned up with NIL and had deep runs every year.

I hate being on the outside and looking in. This is what pisses me off as a faithful UNLV fan. UNLV squandered every opportunity away.

I don't know. Basketball players are different today. Even at Fresno Tark couldn't seem to recapture what he had here. Loyalty means nothing now.

I feel this way more and more. If it weren’t for UNLV I’m not sure I’d watch anymore and even then I’ve feel less and less connected to the program. Implicit in rooting for your Alma mater is the loyalty you have for your college is also present in the players wearing the jersey. I don’t blame the players for getting paid but without any guardrails the game has been turned upside down. Short of UNLV being relevant nationally I’m not sure I’ll last as a fan of the game in this environment. Professional teams have more longevity than college nowadays. It’s pathetic.

“So-and-so is transferring, per his agent.”

Nothing says ‘student-athlete’ like that phrase does.

College sports needs a transfer fee model, similar to soccer. At least smaller schools would benefit like smaller clubs do in soccer
Give the players 2 extra years at NON-P4 schools. Let them play for multiple degrees. Split the leagues up. This is a complete joke now. Look no further than the Elite 8. All P4 schools. The days of the Cinderella teams are going to be much further apart if any in the years to come.

Wondering if there’s a viable model where a school goes after the 3 stars, pays above average NIL for this level of player in exchange for 3-4 year commitments along with some withholding if the player leaves early all towards building a strong team based on team execution rather than pure player talent. In today’s environment perhaps a team that’s played together a few years can make deep runs against teams full of guys that are playing together in their first year.
