Looked at the 5 that are not with UNLV the other day

Antonio at Wake Forest, leading scorer.
Tillman at New Mex St, leading scorer
Hardy, important player on top 20 team
Ntawbe, just left Texas Tech, had good reviews last year when he sat out
Big guy at Baylor, leading rebounder on a top 5 team

My point is, this bunch would beat current UNLV team by 20.

How they let Hardy walk thinking they did not need him at point was a super horrible decision. They would be ok with him penetrating to setup the good shooters they do have.

Antonio is avg 14pts in 19 minutes a game for WF, shooting 3 very good against garbage teams like Delaware State and Longwood, so lets see how he does against way better completion.
Tillman for NMST, has played against Benedictine, AZ and Arizona Christian Firestorm, they won by 6, so I can't compare what they are doing against garbage opponents.

JTT I would love to have with Ntawbe, but he wasn't getting anytime with Tech, so he transferred out.

As bad as UNLV, the competition has been way better, the Marvolous one would love to get Benedictine and Arizona Christian Firestorm on the Schedule if possible!

Hardy has zero PG in his game. Would you rather have Hardy or Jenkins? That’s what it came down to.

Kind of like this bunch did...

Hardy needed to go no matter what he does this year. was not playing team ball and giving his all
antonio can shot but will be a no show against good comp.

I will take grill jenkins over antonio hardy all day. the big diff is no eml that pg play was huge

Tillman was the most disappointing transfer we've had in a long time. Not too sad to see him go. I like our current players. With 7 freshman, and 3 good ones coming in next year, I think the future looks bright. I have no problem building slowly and hopefully hanging on to the roster and seeing those young players mature and blossom over a few years.

Updated look at the 5 that are not with UNLV the other day

Antonio at Wake Forest, 7th leading scorer, one of toughest leagues in the country

Tillman at New Mex St, 2nd leading scorer

Hardy, starting player on top 25 team, even though he is not scoring much

Ntawbe, just left Texas Tech, had good reviews last year when he sat out

JTT at Baylor, leading rebounder on a top 2, undefeated team playing around 22 minutes a game

My point still is, this bunch would beat current UNLV team by 20. I am wondering if coach Otz is that great of a talent evaluator as the guys who left or run off are better athletes than he has recruited for the most part. Grill being only plus hoop athlete he has recruited. Hamilton doesn't count as he was a Marv recruit.

I will say Jenkins would do well as a spot up shooter with a guard that could collapse the defense, as would Grill.

"Antonio at Wake Forest, 7th leading scorer, one of toughest leagues in the country"

Just to clarify. He's the second leading scorer on the team, not the conference. And Wake Forest is a terrible team in a very good league. Wake is rated 118 on KenPom. Wake would be a 1 pt fav on a neutral court against us.

"Tillman at New Mex St, 2nd leading scorer"
Tillman is doing well. Averaging nearly a double/double. But his team sucks. Have not won a single WAC game and rated 119 on KenPom. New Mexico would beat us by 1 pt according to KenPom.

"JTT at Baylor, leading rebounder on a top 2, undefeated team playing around 22 minutes a game. "
Is a very nice player on a super team. But he doesn't start. Can be up and down. For instance in their last game against Ok. State he had 4 pts. and 4 rebounds in 1/2 the game. Baylor would be a 29pt favorite against the rebs.

Hardy is what you would expect Hardy to be when told he'll get pulled if does some crazy s*it. (like driving through 4 players in a zone or tossing up a mid-court three)

Ntwambe would most likely quit before the game.

Your point is taken, and I think these 5 (4?) could very likely win against the Rebs. But I certainly would take the Rebs and the points. 20 points is way too much.

As far as your comment on talent - I'm completely unimpressed with Otz. I wouldn't give him any more time than Munchies got. He's first or second in conference next year or he should be gone. ( if there are the $$)
