Cody has an important place on the team - As a 2 guard, and as a back-up to McCaw - but he has no ability to break the defense down early in the shot clock, no ability to single-handedly break a doble-team in the back-court, and has no ability to utilize a wide-open "big" on a pick and roll. Plus, he has less than half of PM's offensive prowess.
PM sliced CSU up in the first half. I was giving DR credit for recognizing the need for a change-up. However, he went back to Cody in the 2nd half. We lost.
PM accidentally ran the point for one play against SDSU... he sliced up the D and had a bucket at the rim in a mere few seconds, where Cody ran away from seemingly every double team, praying for help.
The fact that PM has not been recognized as "the guy" causes me to lose confidence in DR. It seems, again, he has his guys, and doesn't adjust even though the evidence is clearly apparent, imo.
