when the Rebels were ranked number 1 for the first time, I think it was back in 1981, I was in middle school, not yet a UNLV fan - but I recall how cool it was to see that giant #1 draped on the Flora Dungan Humanities Building. Even that didn’t make me a fan, it took a few years still. But it left an impression because we were small town but we were the best. Very cool.
