Some like to use baseball analogies. Others like to list their preferred candidate by sub categories. A list, B list, C list, etc. Whatever your way is, i'm sure the vast majority are let down by Chris Beard being the final choice for our head coaching vacancy.

This is strictly my opinion, but i think UNLV lucked its way into a hire that is ahead of the curve. Chris Beard was going to be on a meteoric rise whether we jumped in and hired him now, or not. That's the kind of coach he is. He succeeds everywhere he goes. We've talked about and yearned after coaches like that since Rice began to backslide. Underwood and Prohm were names that were mentioned literally hundreds of times during that timeframe on this board. IMO we landed that coach. We just got to him before an Okie State or Iowa State could.
