While watching the game I became fascinated watching Diong catch passes and hang onto rebounds which are 2 things he could not do in the past. He could rival Roberto Duran for the moniker of Hands of Stone. If passes weren’t bouncing off of him then rebounds were being knocked away as he could not secure anything with his hands. What an amazing transformation I witnessed as Diong was gathering in passes effortlessly with 1 hand and turning and giving a pump fake and laying the ball in off the board.
On the other end of the court he was playing amazing helping defense. I can’t wait to see if it continues because one game does not a trend establish But I will say that if it continues he would be a great one to have back for a second senior season! Great kid, great teammate, great hustle and it would be a great story.
