I appreciate the sentiment behind this, but I would love to see BYU come back. Under the admission and recognition that they aren't top dog anymore, and don't control the conference. All the other teams in conference love having them as rivals, they bring value to basketball games that might otherwise not mean much, they are geographically important, and frankly, I just like the intensity of the games the way they had been before BYU left.I ain't got anything against the Zags but, "F" YBU for the way they left in the first place. Now they want back in at least in!

The MWC needs something right now, overall basketball has been on the decline and BYU and Gonzaga would definitely help. No denying that. And if it puts Mormons in seats at the T&M then that's fine by me.
I love seeing the whiney BYU fans when we whoop them up. Enjoy the rivalry. Dumbest thing BYU did was leave the MWC to start with because of their arrogance. No problem with them coming back. Makes the conference more exciting.
What's ironic about this thread is the whining that is attached to the many comments regarding BYU, there must be a lot of Mormons on here or something. Also, saying only Mormons want them back in or would take them back is pretty sad and is far from the truth. In realty, hate the Mormons all you want, but BYU has one of the best traveling fan bases in the country, their TV market is huge and to act like they couldn't hang with the top of conference is just silly. The Zags, St. Marys, and BYU have consistently been better than our top conference competitors, especially when it comes to representing conferences in the NCAA tournament. But I digressed, they have "whiney" fans, "they left us" and made our conference less competitive, they are "arrogant" for taking a risk of independence with football, thus forcing them to find a new conference to accept a majority of the programs. Forcing? But I thought their basketball team left willingly? The MWC pushed them out when their football team left because that hurt our conference (and feelings) in football and as a whole, so why not follow suit and subsequently hurt our basketball conference as well. Meanwhile we are stuck in the MWC and only have dreams to try and do what they did. They might have failed thus far, but they were able to try and they took that risk. Something our fan base can't comprehend because did I mention we are still in the MWC, while pointing out "whiney" fans as a reason to not let in a program that has remained consistent while we have tanked multiple times. Oh and let's not forget, they have MORMONS.Only Mormons want to see those Whiney BYU fans back in the conference.
Don’t lie.
If Zags say "BYU basketball comes or we don't" the MWC had better realize ball is in their court. The MWC should only consider taking BYU if they go all in, not just basketball. They need to include football. I would imagine that BYU will not agree to join the MWC in football. If that is the case, they ought to be kept out of the MWC.
I disagree. They want to come here with or without BYU. Maybe BYU is offering the Zags as a peace offering to come back.If Zags say "BYU basketball comes or we don't" the MWC had better realize ball is in their court.
I didn't mean that they were or weren't, I'm just saying if Gonzaga says "We're only going if BYU goes" .. I think it's an easy "Can we take their bags, too?"I disagree. They want to come here with or without BYU. Maybe BYU is offering the Zags as a peace offering to come back.

All perfectly said.Absolutely we take BYU back in basketball if they want to come, and if their inclusion is a deal-breaker in getting Gonzaga, it shouldn't even be a discussion.
I can't see BYU coming back in football, and if we're going to accept Gonzaga without football, I'm not sure that should be a hang up for BYU either. Would have been nice is Thompson's dumbass would have thought about this when Wichita State wanted to join.
As much as I dislike BYU, it was a good rivalry and would be good for the conference, and ultimately UNLV. Personally... it almost feels like BYU is crawling back with their tail between their legs (if they are indeed trying to get back in).
