I don't get the concept of having a conf board anymore, tbh. Information is everywhere and travels at the speed of light. Support and engagement from fans is on life support...but let's hoard our speculative information. None of the top 100 programs give a rip what we are up to. Like we have some really big secrets and jewels of information on there that are going to propell us into a deep March run.
This isn't a shot at anyone thats on the confidential board, but I've seen a lot of new people interacting with my posts and I'm assuming they were mostly on the confidential board. I highly doubt that they get/have more intel than me so yeah, I'm not sure how useful a confidential board is if its not getting true and real info.

I’ve been around for awhile, there is very few people that I trust when it comes to inside info and their “connections”.. There has been plenty of posters over the years that come to the board under a new name and try to pose as an all-knowing insider.. In reality, it’s easy to connect dots and make connections based on info from social media, & then create post’s to spin it in a way that assumes you have inside sources.. Pretty easy to spot these types, take Waddilove for example..
As for the confidential board, although info has dried up since the CDR era.. I still pay because it’s another source to talk Rebel ball with people who still care..

I agree with everything you just said, but if youre trying to infer that I'm similar to Waddilove then the joke is on you. I've been weeks ahead on many things, especially with football recruiting.
Not everyone that is new comes to this board under a new name. I was a long time viewer and finally decided to make an account to post and interact with everyone. If that is not appreciated or if my sincerity is doubted, I have no issue with just not posting anything. I'm sure many people would be disappointed. Maybe not you and Spilotro but I dont come on this board to please you two.

I took a long time off from posting here, mostly because school, career, family... and the teams decline certainly didn't help with an eagerness to return... I do like chatting here, mostly because Twitter there's a few fans that interact with everything and they all retweet each other like they're better than some of us at being fans...

Confidential room does have some great echos about how liberals suck and Covid is fake etc. If you don’t get enough of that on Fox News or Truth Social I would would highly recommend splurging for $10 a month.
To each their own.. It’s a shame that the board isn’t what it used to be but it’s understandable given the steady decline of the program.. However, paying 100$ a year to talk hoops & get my Rebel fix in, is easily justified for me, regardless of results.. Hopefully the board/program will get that yearly excitement and energy back one day..

Bobby, it’s simple, avoid the thread. It’s clearly marked, man. And I have a different real life insight based upon my profession and I have the ability (so I’ve been told and I believe) that I don’t allow politics impact my determinations. Some people appreciate it. Others don’t. But it’s clearly marked and certainly doesn’t have to be read. It’s a single thread, clearly marked. It’s easily avoidable.
I’ve never asked anybody to stay, leave, sign up, read, don’t read, give me likes and follows, etc. That sort of stuff is so petty and childish to me. I don’t need cyber validation from people. I’m not wired in the same people who have that desire.
People need to make their own decisions, I’m not a shove down your throat type of person. Live and let live.
You, many others here have met me in real life - as a person, I’m laid back as hell, go with the flow, don’t get too thrown … down for whatever/whenever (well, before kids). The only real over the top intensity I had was UNLV … and working hard … and now, more than anything, my kids.
But I think back, all the people I met through this site, Rebel athletics, and a lot of the things we would do. Planned travel, renting busses, blocks of rooms on the road, tailgates, random get togethers without any sports, game day meetings where we’d get the bar set up for UNLV fans, I hosted some large get togethers at my tiny home back in the day, cooked for four or five dozen, all to have a good time until UNLV misses a PAT to blow the game, others had get togethers as well, driving to Mesquite so we could get reception to watch UNLV at Utah football, just a lot of UNLV centric fun times, so many of them. I’m still friends with all of those people, we just don’t have UNLV in common any more because, well, most people bailed, some passed … but that sort of stuff is right up my alley with my personality and I still live that way, but in a different element because so few care about UNLV athletics. I don’t like that it occurred but what are you going to do besides roll with the punches?

Well said. I’ve met several people here that I consider friends today. Even though I fall into the group that doesn’t care very much about UNLV these days, I do still have an interest and want the school to do well. UNLV will always be my alma mater, but the fact that I haven’t lived in LV since 2002 and pathetic performance in FB amd BB makes it easy to distance myself. There probably aren’t many people that can say they’ve been to every UNLV tournament game since 1990, which I have, but will I go to the next one whenever that may be? I don’t know.

I have been off and on this board for years and that includes the confidential too. I appreciated the posts in the past from the confidential board and a lot of them from Spilotro, but I also appreciate the Intel from Lobbyluu this last couple of weeks. And I don't care if it comes from studying tweets, articles and connecting the dots or if your a true insider as long as it is true and Lobbyluu seems right on! As far as vaccines and covid I don't come to this site to get expert advice on that subject because they are just opinions on this board and im here on this board to talk Rebels.

Looking at KK and staff being basically new last year and the recruiting offers posted for 2024, I am in a wait and hope scenario. Lots of players in the portal, but not all of them want to come to LV because of other factors like family, leagues they like, potential degree opportunities, and dorm and housing facilities. I saw at least 50 players that jump right out plus new ones every day. I say "Good luck with the calls" and hope we can solidify some PF's and Centers. PG is probably OK with Webster, JJIII, and Hicks. We need some big guys and the pg's will show up.
PG is an issue, Webster COULD run it but it’s not his main position and then takes away his best trait (catch and shoot 3’s). Hicks is more of a 2 in my eyes but even if he played point, leaning on a freshman who isn’t a “true” PG is a very risky decision. Lastly watching Jackie last year he either chucked up a 3 or drove and didn’t get others involved (possibly just him wanting to get shots up due to limited minutes). I don’t see any of those 3 being an answer at PG.
I do agree if we get big men a PG will follow. But Kruger has to somehow get Dedan to reclassify and commit or the more likely option is to bring in someone from the portal. I can’t see Kruger looking at the roster and thinking PG is solid enough to leave alone.

The MWC board has lots of UNLV fans and lots of interaction - primarily bc everyone in the MWC hates UNLV. It's funny how obsessed other MWC fans are with piling on UNLV's crappy programs. Plus you get to lol at posts from the crazy nutters in Idaho and Wyoming in the non-sports forum.

Right towards the end of the year Jackie did reign in his impulsive scoring tendencies, actually passed it a bit.
By no means a true point guard, but I can see potential in him becoming that for us, at least in a back up role. It also makes him a bit more useful, since he can guard 1's much better than 2's and 3's.
I like the potential of JJ3 over Hicks as a PG.
But I agree at least one new guy needs to be a PG. I share the concern with Dedan as a true freshman, but I would still feel pretty comfortable with him running the point on a veteran team. We need dudes that can pass all over floor, not just the PG anyway. So even the best PG in the world will fix everything.

We aren't getting DJ but, if we did, I think some leniency would be allowed by the fanbase since there would be more excitement in having a very highly regarded legacy. He's local and a very solid player.

I don't post there, jut lurk...but it's a good forum for UNLV fans.
DJ is a good player, I like him a lot. I’d love to have him here - more because we’d nail a top local kid and we have absolutely neglected the local kids. I mentioned about the MWC frosh of the year, Darrion Williams, garnering less than zero interest from UNLV. Zero contact and he was very interested in playing here. The kid isn’t an NBA can’t miss but considering what we’ve put out lately, he was more than enough for this team, even as a freshman.
DJ isn’t a “program maker”, but he’d be a really good piece of a puzzle. I liked Zaon better, but he can’t drive 55. So while I consider the need for PG very high priority, I do think there are others. I’d prefer it to be DJ, but I never thought that was going to happen especially with our NLI resources at the primary time of his recruitment. There are others out there. I don’t consider not getting him as a crushing blow as long as we end up with a capable PG.
Over the last decade or so the one player that was easily obtainable with just some effort and wasn‘t even recruited was Orlando Robinson. HUGE miss IMO!
