Fresno State intends to play

I heard their AD has told some non conference opponents they intend to play football this fall. Good news for the mwc.

What I heard was the same basics but with a different interpretation. Their non-conf away opponents Texas A&M and Colorado have been told that the Bulldogs intend to show up and claim their $1.3M and $600K paydays, but home opponents Idaho State and NMSU have been given no such reassurance.

The issue with the Texas A&M and Colorado games is that both have it written into the contract that if Fresno doesn't show they owe their hosts $1M in "damages". So those two road NC games are either win $1.9M or lose $2M, a $3.9M difference and basically make or break the program's season financially.

So theoretically they could start practice in Reno or somewhere in mid-August, play at Colorado Sept 12th and then Texas A&M several weeks later, and not have to ever play or practice in the state of California, and beat any 14-day quarantine on traveling into Cal.

What was better news was that the San Jose St AD said that the most likely thing is that games will be played in empty stadiums and depend on increased TV interest. That could work.
