It's really ridiculous for people to give up on Menzies after 1 year. The first year DID NOT COUNT. Anyone who says it did is automatically disqualified from commenting on Menzies on the basis of being a moron. If we're defending our home court like this in year 3(4 for the morons) then I'll be pissed. That being said, this sucks.

Hey, on the bright side, apparently I won some contest for renewing my season tix (that I now regret). A buddy sent me some screen shot with my name on it, but I haven't seen anything in email yet.

I guess I get to "lead the Rebels out of the tunnel with Hey Reb". I think I might actually prefer to do that with the football team.

Growing Pains...We'll get better, be patient.

And we are better. Just not as good as the better teams in our league yet. Maybe that's s low bar, but it is what it is. Soon...

Hey, the Rebels are still playing hard. Fighting for loose balls and such. That's really all you can ask. Fresno is simply a better team. Not necessarily better players, but absolutely a more cohesive unit. They will beat us 9 out of 10 times.

If you're looking to assign blame, look to the past AD and the BofR and the boosters, who chose, either by design, or by total ineptitude, to implode the program.

MM was stuck with an empty cupboard, and the players, athletic as they may be, were expected to gel and compete with teams that had 4 years to find their mojo. It's a combination that's doomed from the start. A 19-9 start, weak schedule or not, is an accomplishment. And they'll win some more games. Just not this one...

Hey, we played them to a draw in the second half. That's something...

The one personal upside was, at UNLV -2.5, I violated my rule never to bet on Rebel games. Those of us who follow the team closely, knew this game would be trouble. It was fairly easy to take Fresno St. here. I'd have been more than happy to lose, had we prevailed (it was a small wager), but at least I'll collect.

Not necessarily. I’m not saying the Rebels will win a lot in this stretch run. I fear the worst. But it’ll depend on whether the sports books catch up to the reality. If they find that they’re getting beat by bettors taking UNLV opponents, they’ll begin to post very different lines.
