He was, but if he put his name in portal.Several reasons come to mind , but I would not imagine he would play in the NIT with his name there. We are playing 7 deep. So it draws me to conclude we are not playing another game. Wishing thinking? Probably.Didn’t he barely play & when he did..
He was terrible?!?
Fire Kruger NOW!

Doubt it matters who the coach is. I bet he’s been told he’s not getting any nil. This could be distressing. Does he believe CKK is staying and therefore he'd be on the bench for another year?
Seemed very easy going and relaxed instead of aggressive and tough.Have to look deeper than Huggy recruited him so he must be tough, good.
Sometimes there are other reasons. Good kid but not very good.
Can’t be what you’re not.Seemed very easy going and relaxed instead of aggressive and tough.
He was getting hot right before he got booted off the team. Maybe it was a injury? That's how I recall it.Can’t be what you’re not.
He reminded me a bit of Matt Shaw. Good size, nothing in the post, could shoot it a bit. Matt was much better though.
He still has eligibility? How will we ever replace his 1.5 rebounds per game?
Oh my bad I thought that number reflected his game effort.Cottrell wore 0, because that's how many minutes he averages a game.
I think they are interchangeable.Oh my bad I thought that number reflected his game effort.
Amen! LolHe played soft, he wants to stay at the 3 and shoot, and that was his game, not enough talent to have him on the team, Hicks is another that needs to be shown the door.
I like to have Henley back, i take Cherry, and if we can get good coach who can help N'Diaye and Bannarbie i bring them back, i have no clue on Evans since he was RS, and that's not good if he couldnt beat out any of the guys before him. The whole back court needs to be replaced.
Hicks isn't even a dime a dozen. He's a bull in a China shop. That's not a bad quality on defense, where he was just ok (in my opinion), but he was horrible on offense. That's not what you want in a 2, 3.He played soft, he wants to stay at the 3 and shoot, and that was his game, not enough talent to have him on the team, Hicks is another that needs to be shown the door.

I could lay flat on my back at center court for the entire game and average more rebounds per game than Cottrell.I think they are interchangeable.
Hicks should talk to Mullen about playing DB. He is always not only the quickest guy on the court but also the fastest. He's playing the wrong sport.Hicks isn't even a dime a dozen. I don’t disagree with you.Hicks should talk to Mullen about playing DB. He is always not only the quickest guy on the court but also the fastest. He's playing the wrong sport.
Not a villain but he was never in position that he was supposed to be in. When he got on the court, he just hung around the 3pt line, got lost in defense, and couldn't rebound. He only had a somewhat "productive" game in the MWCT because he was spelling our guards at the 3 spot at times. He wasn't a great shooter, yet that's all he took it felt like. So Villain no, but a player who spent 2 years too long on the bench eating a scholarship we could've filled with a hybrid 3/4 gut, absolutelySeems like Cottrell was a good locker room and culture guy. Teammates and coaches loved him and he was okay with getting no minutes--never a cancer in the locker room or a problem off the court. You get 13 schollies, and a Cottrell makes your team better in different ways--but when you're down to 8 guys and he has to get minutes you can see he's a soft finesse euro 4 who shouldn't be getting a ton of minutes at a good program. But you're not realistically going to be more than 10 deep on your bench, so you should have room for guys like that. Kinda of sucks that we're going to trash him as though the end of the bench guy is some kind of villain.
I wish him well.
Yeah, there is all that time that Kevin runs a 12 deep rotation /sNot a villain but he was never in position that he was supposed to be in. That's fair, he doesn't like contact either. Still, I saw Bear Cherry dog it a lot more than Ike this year. I watched Bedford some nights not even try get to the defensive glass. Consistent effort or lack thereof has been a recurring theme on these Kruger teams the last 2 years. Of course we still have guys that are still on aboutWe have had bad players before what I didn’t like about him was his effort last season a number of times the ball would go right by him and he wouldn’t even half attempt the rebound and get out hustled to the ball by some guard.
He was redshirt because of grades not talentHe played soft, he wants to stay at the 3 and shoot, and that was his game, not enough talent to have him on the team, Hicks is another that needs to be shown the door.

If your having grade issues in 2025, that's huge red flag?He was redshirt because of grades not talent
I never saw a game start to finish so you may be right about Cherry! I watched bits and pieces of games but yeah I have no patience for lack of effort. The one that got me was Boise last year when he waited for the ball to softly land into his waiting, loving arms while their guards jumped for the ball to outrebound him. That's fair, he doesn't like contact either. 1 singular player expected to shoulder team- hero ballI don’t see how you recruit well when your not sure of your own team’s identity? What type of players you bring in should fit what you do well, with some exceptions due to their talent being brought in.
Can someone here tell me what was the identity of Kevin’s teams the last four years?
The only thing I can come up with is his teams were “inconsistent” and that is not an identity, it’s an indictment, which is not good!
On offense, it's generally pick and roll game, and a little drive and kick. In other words the offense that most people will run when playing pickups. Can someone here tell me what was the identity of Kevin’s teams the last four years?
