Most important AD hire for UNLV. The entire focus should be hiring a person best positioned to give us the greatest chance of sneaking into a P5.
She'll be treated like a queen. Unbelievable perks. Hi pay. An AD in a program that's not expected to win. Only downside is she'll have to live in Colombia.

In my opinion, good riddance from UNLV. It has been indicated that UNLV donors have privately expressed a strong dislike of DRF, noting they donated to programs they were committed to in spite of DRF. She made many poor coaching hires, men’s basketball and football got significantly worse under her tenure at UNLV, and observations and comments from many UNLV Athletics staff are that she was abusive to her staff and created a toxic working environment at UNLV Athletics, again, all in my opinion.

Until the folks at Mizzou find out that there are reports and indications that DRF actually hurt donor relations and Athletics fundraising in many ways at UNLV, as well as many reports of abusive treatment of UNLV Athletics staff and creating a toxic working environment - items that do not serve a University well. Although VERY grateful Mizzou is taking DRF off of UNLV’s hands, all in my opinion.

DRF was looking for a new job since day 1 at UNLV. She put her name in for every job that came open. Glad somebody finally hired her. If you don't want to be here GTFO. Good luck at Mizzou. I hope it works out for her.
Yes! In my opinion, a terrible UNLV hire from Day 1! Also in my opinion, she has severely diminished the quality and morale of UNLV Athletics, so VERY grateful Mizzou is taking her off of UNLV’s hands, and can ‘enjoy’ her!
And nothing but respect to Mizzou and faurotfield! Wishing much success, but, in my opinion, DRF’s issues go far beyond being a ‘bit abrasive‘, firmly existing within the territory of being disrespectful to and dismissive of donors, and being abusive/toxic to Athletics and University staff and colleagues with the aim of humiliating them - items that should never be tolerated. And the UNLV coaches who appeared to mostly do well (I.e. Dwaine Knight in golf) had long-standing relationships/records with great donor respect and support, and could survive, thrive and excel beyond DRF’s toxic reach. Again, noting my opinions on these items. Anyone could easily do their own research on all of this.

I know we are pumped to have her come to CoMo. If she is a bit abrasive we can certainly deal with that. Our school president/chancellor has a similar reputation himself.
I certainly wish UNLV well in the AD search. Maybe Jim Sterk has a few years left in him as AD. Has a ton of MWC connections. Did a good job here.
Jim Sterk would be a huge upgrade compared to what we've had here the last decade.
I think he is probably just going to retire at this point. But it is funny to me that he was effectively pushed out the door earlier than he wanted so that we could get DRF. The grass is always greener on the other side I suppose.
There is no argument by which Otzelberger teams were worse than Menzies teams. DRF didn't hire Menzies.
Definitely an argument about whether she should have gotten rid of Sanchez. Maybe his time fully took its course, but we'll never know. The Arroyo hire is still a mystery. Obviously 2020 was an unmitigated disaster. 2021 is expected to be very slightly better. 2022 is the key year for him. If they are trash in 2022, i wouldn't be that surprised if the seat is hot and the new AD has eyes on a new suitor.

If the current condition and status of UNLV Athletics program, as created by DRF, defines and elevation’ to success and reaching new heights to her, heaven help Mizzou for what she has in store for them! I mean under normal circumstances, this statement would be deemed controversial. But when it comes to DRF, what in the hell jumped off the page in her resume at UNLV?? She added no tangible value. I guarantee she took credit as an extraordinary fundraiser with the $8 million basketball gift and the Fertitta Football Complex. Which were both inherited.

I have not heard any reports of these types of improprieties or transgressions, and I would be very surprised if anything like that were true. However, there have been many reports and indications of DRF’s abuse of UNLV Athletics and other UNLV staff, and her hurting our ruining the livelihoods of others while feathering her own nest, among other poor and abusive behavior, all in my opinion. Seems like DRF is someone who should not be permitting to manage people, or be around students, related to rampant abuse and toxicity she engages in.

Excellent points on the fundraising items rebelworks91! My opinion, and based on available information and evidence, is that the fundraising success in UNLV Athletics, including for the Fertitta Building and Basketball, are due to the great work of the program coaches and staff, and DRF is not responsible for successes here. It appears that DRF was a hindrance to these fundraising efforts, and, when she got involved, the donors were very turned off and annoyed with her involvement, and she had to be removed from being involved, as her involvement made it less likely the donors would support the UNLV Athletics programs. Everything points to DRF being absolute poison to donors. Mizzou has hired DRF, and it appears very likely that she will decimate their Athletic fundraising efforts, and will turn off donors to the level that they begin hating the institution because of DRF. Just sad and amazing! Fundraising and building good donor relationships is job number 1 of an AD, and Mizzou has hired DRF with what points to a history of her being absolutely horrible at these items - her involvement turns off donors and discourages their involvement. Package this with her history and bullying and abusing coaches and fundraising staff, to compensate for her terrible skills and performance, and having DRF as your AD, or on your staff at all, amounts to having a toxic, abusive and abject failure leading or being a part of your team. Good luck Mizzou - you are paying $800k a year to have the ‘privilege’ of someone destroying your Athletics department and your donor relations, while bullying and abusing your staff! Sure seems like the type of person you want representing your institution and being around your students - to do them all harm. All in my opinion, but research the information and evidence for yourselves.

If going on a college visit with your child is "creepy, disgusting, reprehensible, and despicable behavior" then I think a whole lot of the world falls into that category unfortunately. Both my parents would be in that group. We are doomed as a society if that is the case.
In my opinion, this looks like collusion and back room dealing here, and very poorly conducted at that, but I have no issue with others forming their own conclusions.
