Draft board

Earned what, to go in the first round? Not really. He'll go on potential in a down year, it's all about timing. He could use more time at the college level, just like Bennett, who's NBA career is likely over already.

I agree Zimm is probably gone, but I don't know that he's earned it either. How many games did he miss with a cold/flu, a bruise, and probably the only real injury, a sprain. Hard to be impressed when guys like Seagers played hurt. I don't think he's ready either but I feel he has played to protect his NBA career, and I don't blame him, but I don't think he played tough and hard. I wish him all the best but I'd rather have a player who's head and heart are with the Rebels not always in the future.

that's ridiculous. really irritates me when people assume someone is missing a game because of a hang nail. you haven't the slightest idea of the pain level he is or is not going through. if he was protecting his chances, why'd he come back at all?

saying he gets injured often i could see, but saying he's soft and weak is a stooge comment.

in addition, what is the benefit to playing "hurt" if it means you're worthless out there and can cause more harm to your team and your healing?

As Coach Miller told him " you will never play at 100% health in the NBA. He missed games because of flu/cold and a bruise, these are not injuries that would be made worse by playing, the sprain was. I didn't say he was soft, I said the way he played was soft as he was being pushed around under the basket. He will be expected to play with such minor injuries in the NBA, and play effectively. As I said, I don't blame him for protecting his future, but I want a player who plays hard.for the Rebels.

Big Zimm gave it all he had as a Rebel. Thank You Zimm for choosing to stay home and play for your hometown school and community as Kentucky, Arizona and other top programs begged for you. It would have been easy to get frustrated and have an attitude but, every game I saw a smile on Zimm's face as he high fived his team mates and encouraged them. If all Zimm cared about was moving on he could have easily sat out the rest of the year. Just like Vaughn did and just like Vaughn did when he had Flu. His draft status would have not dropped at all if he did. But instead Zimm came back once cleared and played on a short handed Rebel roster that had little to play for really. A 5 star, great kid chooses to stay home and play for the rebs and fans state he didn't earn his way? Fans that have no clue as to how he felt physically. Did any of you watch the torny in Maui? Zimm was extremely sick. He was sweating like crazy after one time down the court and looked physically drained. So yeah better off sitting and recovering. Unreal actually....

The one and dones have done very little impact on UNLV team success. The Dave Rice model failed and it failed big time. I hope the future of the program is centered on winning games, contending for conference titles, making the tournament and winning games at that level. May whatever NBA draft success Rebel players have be a residual of team success.

Maybe I'm out of line, but a lot of your posts read as if you have a personal problem with people. Like Rick and his cheating being a reason he's a bad hire.

And now attacking Zimm. That doesn't make sense to me.

Cold/Flu - he had dehydration and was given IV fluids for 3 days. Ran off the court in the Indiana game because he started to shit himself and came right back. How much weight does he need to lose over a couple of days to make it a real illness?

A thigh bruise which took 3 direct hits which could have caused permanent damage. Had a Kevlar plate made and sewn into his pads under his shorts so he could play rather than sit out the additional 2 weeks they wanted him to sit.

But hey, at least the knee sprain was a valid injury, right?

You are crazy if you think he didn't play hard. See Indiana game where he looked like he was deathly pale, and the end of the season where he could have just sat out the rest of the season. We love to roast our own don't we?

Whether he was sick or not is irrelevant to his future, if he's getting pushed around in the Mtn Worst how's he gonna fare in the NBA? He has the talent but he's not physically ready and could really use time to fill out and mature. You only get one shot at a first impression in the League then it's the European Gulags for life.

That's a different argument altogether.

But unfounded character assassination? Tsk, tsk, tsk.
