If Odom or an AD told any potential coordinators that they could not interview for other jobs until after the season, you would have an incredibly hard time getting anyone to take the job. Be great if you could put that in a contract. Getting anyone to sign it would be tough though.

I've been just rolling with this success since October. I'm not letting myself care about next year or what our QB may or may not do. I'm just living the dream of going to a Bowl.

This happened after the season since Bobby Petrino bounced on Jan 4. However, Marion leaving then hurt his former school in terms of recruiting since they probably assumed that he was going to remain there.

Coaches come and go when it's convenient for them, not for their former employer.

Coaches are one thing. You want to get them in your program asap. I don't know a reason why they can't wait to open the transfer portal until after the National Championship Game. Maybe getting transfers in before the spring semester? Waiting would give incoming new coaches time with their new team and to recruit the portal. Kinda give everyone an equal opportunity.
